A warm bottle for a nap comfort?

My 4 month old REFUSES to nap during the day, but when exhaustion finally hits the only way he'll lay down is with a warm bottle. He won't eat out of it, he just sucks on it. Even with a binky he won't do it, it has to be a warm bottle. I always feel guilty because I feel like I'm wasting good formula, even though I go through WIC and place the bottle in the fridge to be reused for cereal or making his homemade baby food. I NEVER let him sleep with the bottle, as soon as he's out I take the bottle away. I was just curious if anyone elses little ones do it? I know its a comfort thing, but I just don't understand why a bottle to suck on, but not eat out of, and not just a pacifier?

I have several different types of pacifiers, his favorite one finally wore out (he litterally popped the nipple) so we had to toss it, we have the same exact one but the nipples still hard hes slowl getting it soft, but Ill have to try the warming it up in warm water trick!

have you tried a different kind of pacifier? my daughter wouldnt take hers when she was younger, but i tried a couple different kinds, and finally found one that she liked. also, maybe if its the warmth he likes, try warming the paci up in a bowl of warm water, maybe then he'll take it? hope you figure something out :)

um i was told to keep the bottle temperature warm. like breast milk. that stuff dont come out cold. as for the bottle my 15 month old is having issues with that she dont want a binky...i know bad bad at her age but its better then cavitys right. she wants a bottle to suck on...not eat but she wont with plain water. something flavored.. she tells me sippy sippy when she is tired and gets a hard sippy but 3 am comes and she wants a bottle.
