My little girl is almost 8mos old and she has been crying/whining in her sleep for a few months now. I go in to check on her, put her binki back in her mouth, and calms down instantly. What should I do to break that habit? Let her cry it out? Need some advice please :)
Thanks in advance!

could be a comibation I'd say. At 8 months a good possibility teeth are cutting. My daughter has had the hiccups in her sleep and that's made her cry. My son used to have nightmares and sceam in his sleep so i'd go in and cuddle him it would take a while to settle him. I'd say she 'sjust having a nightmare and little scared and her binki is something familiar and comforting.

Thank you! My heart breaks to let her cry. So no matter how exhausted I am or what ever it may be, I will just keep it up. I just would like to know what it is? Nightmares, teeth, gas? Probably all of the above. You're right Nikki S, they are only babies for a short time. She is getting big so fast :( Thanks again!!

keep doing what you're doing my daughter does it sometimes. She may be asleep but it's still important to comfort them. As kids this age do tend to have seperation anxiety and there could also be nightmares about mummy or daddy. These do pass don't worry.

It's normal, she will grow out of it. I would just continue to do what you are doing. I am not a fan of CIO method. Research suggests it raises their cortisol levels. They are only babies for such a short time and these phases while they don't feel like it at the time do pass quickly.
