Just so you know, you are a mom now.  You're a mom as soon as you get pregnant.  That baby makes you a mom!

Good Luck!  How exciting!  I remember having my first, he will be five here in a few days, it seems like just yesterday he was born and I'm still trying to figure out where the other 2 came from!  You are in for the most wonderful gift of a life time!  You have so much 2 look forward 2!  There is no feeling in the world that compares to the feeling of being a Momma!  Best wishes for you and the baby!  And remember to get as much rest as you can these next few days!

i agree with laura, you are a mother already. your body is nurturing, taking care of, and helping that little baby to grow...this is what mother's do!

congratulations! motherhood is an amazing journey :)

You are a mom from the second sperm meets egg. Dont think anything different. Moms care for their children and do things to keep them safe and protect them and love them. They do not have to be born to do all of this so please, you are a mom during pregnancy!

Congratulations and good luck- one bit of advice- just be nice to the dr's and nurses... they know you're in pain and are only there to help...  Also, when I had mine, I found that (if you can) putting yourself into a meditative state can help...  it's sooooo hard, but just breathe... and when you can't do anything else, breathe some more...  Screaming and yelling takes too much energy and makes it that much more difficult...  breathe and conserve energy, you're gonna need it... good luck!

If I can give any advice before you have all your babies go and get "Happiest Baby on the Block" not sure who it is by (written by a Dr) it is one of the best books I have ever EVER read.  My husband and I bought the book after my daughter was born and it was MUCH more difficulty to read it with a screaming baby.  The book gives you certain tools to help with a coliky or fussy baby.  Talks about the 5 S'S Swaddling, Side lying, Swinging, SHhhsing sucking....they all make sense in why you do these in this order!! SO please buy the book..and beleive me you will be so happy you did.  Or daughter was colicky in temperment and she cried from 8pm-midnight and after reading the book and doing the 5 S'S and being persistent with these tools it was amazing how quickly our daughter stopper that crying period it was a matter of days and she was amazing!

Congratulations!  Having a child is very difficult but more wonderful than you can imagine.  Nothing can truly prepare you for being a mother, but go with your instincts and do what you think is best for your child and your family.  Most importantly don't forget to take care of yourself!!!
