My son will be two months old in three weeks, and for the life of me I can't even get him to nap in his crib!!! I would like for him to be napping in his crib by the time he is two months, and possibly even sleeping in there too!!! Right now, at night, he sleeps in mine and my boyfriends room, in a bassinet. For naps he will only sleep either in my arms or in his boppy pillow!!! Any advice????

he only likes swaddling as long as him arms are free, s i stopped swaddling him a while ago!!! He now sleeps at night in his crib but not so much during the day

He may like the bassinet because it is small. Have you tried swaddling him? Lots of babies love to be swaddled. It gives them the sense of being in the womb. He'll probably sleep well in his crib too.

i have always just let my both my boys do as they wish sleeping in pushchair excetra. and both have ended up sleeping through in there cots by 9mths . but my antie has 3 under 3 and she has always used the gina ford contented baby routine and all 3 of hers sleep 7 ntill 7 and have naps during the day she swears by it xx

Well he can kind of hold his head up, but he will only do tummy time for maybe five or ten minutes before he starts fussing, but earlier tonight I put him in his crib in his boppy pillow while he was slightly awake, and he was completely quiet... It got to the point that i completely spaced is that he was in his crib... Well I went in to check on him and he was passed out!!! I was excited that he feel asleep on his own... He napped for like four hours or so... Then woke up for a bottle and after wards was starting to fall asleep again so I put him back in his crib, he babbled for a couple of minutes and then feel back asleep!!!

For the first three weeks, my baby wouldn't sleep in a bassinet, crib or playpen. He only slept in the car seat. He was able to hold his head up, so we tried putting him down on his tummy and he took to sleeping in it just fine. If he's able to hold up his head, perhaps that's an option for you. Also, there are wedges that keep the baby on his side if being on his tummy worries you...The wedge goes in the crib.

if you have a swing i would introduce him to that and let him fall asleep in it and then put him in his crib. i had the same problem with my daughter. she is now finally sleeping in her crib at night. it took a lot of patience to get her to nap during the day. as for the sleeping in the crib the only reason my daughter likes it now is becasue she can roll over in her crib and couldn't in her bassinet. its really hard to transition them for bassinet to crib. if you can get him to nap during the day make sure you put him in the crib. after a few weeks of napping in the crib he should want to sleep there all the time. i wish you lots of luck.
