Any advice on how to get your infant to finally sleep in their own crib?

Perhaps the vibrating baby sleeper app (link below) for iphones could be helpful. It works by sending soothing and relaxing vibrations through the mattress and creating white noise..

Classical music, vaporizer{moisture in air}, and a good night light is how we got Keagan to sleep in his own crib in his room :)

Put the crib in your room for a few weeks to get him used to sleeping in the crib in familiar surroundings. At the same time give him "playtime" in his room to get used to his room. When you move the crib he's been sleeping in into the room he's gotten used to being in and keep his bedtime routine the same you should have no trouble. I used to let my first child fall asleep on the couch and then lift him to bed and at 3 years i was still spending 3 hours a night in his room. I eventually put a tv in his room. Not ideal but at least now he will go to bed for me. My second baby the day i brought him home from the hospital i put him into the bassinet at bed time closed the door and listened on the baby monitor and did it every night since then. Sometimes he cries now at 10 months. I wait 5 mins and if he doesn't settle i'll go in and pick him up give him a cuddle and put him back.

If you put in the hard work not it'll benifit later. Our 4 year old is still not a great sleeper, and likes to climb in with us as he got so used to falling asleep with one of us that he misses it if he wakes!!

I co-slept with my son until he was 10 months old :S The only thing that worked for me was letting him cry it out. However I don't think I would have been able to do that when he was that young. There are methods and if you google it you mite find some age appropriate methods for crying it out. Good luck!

i put my lil girl in her cot in the day time when she gets tired and afa a while she just got used goin in her room i put her in her room a little bit earlier than 5 mnths but shes fine and love the peace n quite i think

You might want to try moving the bassinet that he is sleeping in into the room at night. He may have a problem with the crib because it is unfamiliar to him and you are not there to comfort him through that unfamiliarity.

I co-slept with my daughter until she was 2 months old. She would sleep threw the night if she was sleeping with me. So I took 2 pillows out of our room (that smelt like us) and put them in her crib, so she would lay on them, she slept right threw the night. I continued doing that for about 2 weeks then I took a small blanket and laid it down for her to lay on top of, did that for 2 weeks, took out the blanket and now thats the only place she will fall asleep. It's a pain in the ass because she will not nap in her stroller if were out at the zoo or something or at someones house..only in her crib or play pen!! But on the bright side she sleeps 12 hours a night lol she's now 13 months :) Hope this helps!

I'm a full-time working mom, but he does take naps in his crib when he is home, so he knows his crib :)
Ashley, that is a good idea to move the baby after he falls asleep.

My son was like that too. What i did was when he took a nap i would lay him in has bed, The first night I tried to leave him in overnight he would not stay. I took the bassinett down the next day. When I tried it the next night there was no problems. He sleeps good in there. Plus he's a preemie. I think i put him in when was 4 months in his corrected age 6 months chronological

try getting him to nap in his crib during the day at first then move onto the night time in a week or two.



I've always shared a room with my daughter, but im also a single mom whom can only afford a one bedroom apartment lol

sometimes i have to wait until my 6 month old falls asleep in her pack n play then take her upstairs w/ the lights still off to put her in her crib. She still sometimes cries when i put her in there but she does much better now. it also helps to have something in her crib that smells like me & her.
