any moms get off the pill and get pregnant right away?

I was on the pill for 4 years. My husband and I decided it was time for another baby. I stopped the pill in December.I should have started my period on or around Jan. 23 an didn't so I took a test and it was positive. I am now 8 months pregnant. We were both so surprised how quickly it happened. I had not expected that b/c I too hear that it could take a while after stopping the pill. But everyone is different. So you never really know what will happen. Good Luck!!

I forgot to pack mine one time we went back home for a few weeks. My first day not taking them since I had my baby girl on July 23 was December 18. I got pregnant January 7 with our second girl. The doctor told me after you stop taking the pill you're more fertile the first few weeks after.

I came off birth control in the February and conceived March and my wee boy was born in the December. Like yourself I thought it would at least take a few months for my body to be back to normal, which is why our planning went a bit out the window and now have two December babies :-)

I ran out , the next day we had sex and BAM , pregnant !

Um I messed up on my pills and decided to skip one month to get myself back on track so I didn't totally mess up my cycle but instead I ended up pregnant with my 3rd child. :) Hope you don't have to wait too long.

thats how i had my son i was using the patch and couldnt afford it anymore so i was changing birth control to pills and got knocked up with him in a month lol.....

i went off the pill in may of 2004, my hubby was deployed until the middle of june, and i as pregnant by july. i had been on the pill for over five years, i thought it would take a long time, i guess i was wrong!

With my first one we stopped the pill in March after 9 years of taking it, by June we were pregnant (despite being told that we would most likely have problems conceiving). With our second one we stopped in April and late May we were pregnant (the supposed "problems conceiving" not being fixed). However, my case may not be normal, as I take metformin for my diabetes; metformin has been known to induce ovulation, so we may have had a bit more of a chance in the usual month than normal.

I went off the pill to have a baby but it didn't work straight away for me it took about 5 months to fall pregnant. just a helpful hint dont try to get pregnant just pretend your not trying. i wanted it to work straight away but it didn't prob coz i wanted it to happen so bad. If you eat right excersise and dont stress about it you will have more of a chance

everyone is SO DIFFERENT... i wasn't even off the pill i had just messed up a couple of days and got pregnant. and i was on the pill for 7 years! good luck to you, i hope you get pregnant as quickly as you want! :)

I was on the pill for 5yrs b4 I got pregnant with my son but when it came to my daughter I was off the pill for for a mth b4 I found out I was pregnant there is a 7yr age gap between my son and daughter and my daughter was 3mths old when I found out we were pregnant with our youngest

I got off the pill in like the begining of feb. and was pregnant by the begining of april. So yes it can happen and probably will happen for you. Especially since you've already had a child your body will pick it up quickly.

the first time i stopped taking the pills was in the beginning of december 2005 and on christmas i was already pregnant. that was with my first daughter. the second time i stopped i took about 2 or 3 months to get pregnant.

One of my friends just found out she is pregnate and she was on the pill, She took it same time everyay and the one time her bf didnt use a condom she got pregnate! Im on the shot, I dont trust the pills!

i came off the pill, had my period, and then the following period was missed, so wouldnt worry. i was worried that it may take a while for the pill to get out of my system. i think it may just depend on how quickly you concieve anyway so if it took you a while last time, or not it will probably be the same xx

I took birth control for about 3 years everyday right on schedule and decided to get pregnant. Went off BC in november and found out jan. 5th I was pregnant. This time around though I was off BC for over a year before I got pregnant with baby #2. Good luck!

i was taking my pill for over 3 years since my first son, stopped taking them to have another, and didnt even get the chance to have a 'real' period lol was very quick. as soon as you stop taking it, your normal fertility takes over :)

Me! Totally unexpected too! I had been on BC for 3 years, then lost my health insurance along with my old job and did not take anything for a year and a half (we used the "rhythm method" and nothing happened even though there were a few slip-ups. I began to think I could not get pregnant without assistance). I went back on it in Sept. 2009 after getting new health insurance, and did not like how it made me feel so I took a "break" after my November pills ran out. I got pregnant about a week before Christmas & now our little guy is due in 2 weeks! My doctor told me that waiting several months to a year for the hormones to leave your body is not true, so best of luck to you and your fiance!

I fell pregnant with my first child afew weeks after coming off the pill but with my second it took 13 months before I conceived. I am now pregnant with my third which was a big shock as this time I was on the pill but we are very happy and looking forward to our new arrival in a few months time :-)

i used nuva ring and was off it for one month before i got pregnant and we not really trying to get pregnant right away but we were not using any other forms of BC.

I got prego twice on the pill. with my 3rd I was on the nueva ring they told me I would not get prego til I was of it for at least 3 months, but I got prego 10 days after taking out the ring...so yep very possible.

i missed a few days on my pill as me nd my partner went away for a long romantic weekend and i forgot 2 take them with me ( i honestly did forget) and i concieved that weekend!!! it all depends on the person so dnt take much notice of wot ur contraception says. good luck xx

i heard of people getting pregnant right away off the pill, but not instantly after they got off of the depo shot. i actually got pregnant while using the pill and i took plan b. i think everybody is just different. i also heard two weeks after your period is the best time to try, your most fertile i guess?

i had been on the same bc since June 2005. i tried switching pills in April 2008 cuz the cost of mine were $97 a month and a generic form didn't exists yet. i tried two different kinds, one in april and one in may, both gave me migraines. decided since we couldn't afford the $100 a month, now that i was without insurance, we just go without. this was first week of June 2008. forgot about lack of pill on June 22nd, Bella was born March 20, 2009.

i was on the pill for 8 years and stopped it to conceive my daughter. I got pregnant right away. Stopped the pill and conceived 2 weeks later. My period were late that month, i thaught it was beacuse of stopping the pill but took a pregnancy test anyway to make sure. Came out positive!! We where thrilled

First time roud I got prggers straight away and had identical twins! I was told the pill had something to do with that as I was only 20 at the time. Second time round it took 3 months.
