Thanks for all the comments. We do give him warm milk and he is definately not constipated and definately has the right amount of healthy foods and we play with him as much as possible to wear him out,we have also tried to stop him from napping during the day in hopes that he would go to sleep but that also didnt work lol.We have seen doctors about it but I think its time to get another opion now.

That must be so tough for you (((hugs)))

I stayed with the controlled crying method, and finally got my son to sleep through a couple of weeks ago at 10 months. (up to a couple of months ago, he could be up up to 9 times a night!!)

Have you removed everything possible for interaction from the cot when you put him in it? When you choose a method, you do need to stick with it for quite a while. Otherwise they cotton on that they can break it, and wont stop,

I would go to the dr. There may be something else that keeps him from sleeping. Is he constipated? In pain?

Some kids just struggle to sleep through, although you do hope that can change!

Hope you see some improvement soon

iv come to the conclusion that some kids are just bad sleepers. my daughter is 3 and i put her to bed at 7pm and she will fuss and cry till at least 10pm(which does does wonders for my stress levels, lol). iv tried keeping her up all day and limiting her afternoon sleep, but nothings working. if u can take him to the park or somewhere he can run wild maybe that will help him feel more tired

Wow that's tough. Have you taken him to a doctor? He may be able to help.

Its not that he doesnt sleep through the night, he just doesnt like to sleep all together. He simply wont sleep untill his body is that tired he just drops.Every day we are still up anywhere from 6am-8.30am because he wont sleep and when he does finally sleep he only sleeps for like 5hours and sometimes he even wakes up after only an hour of sleeping. He doesnt have very much sugar in his diet or anything. We have tried having a midwife come to our house even her methods failed,we have tried natural/organic medication, baby massage, sleepy time bath wash, special music, phenergan (sedative for infants), even tried putting him in bed with us.but still nothing works, he gets extremely tired but simply does not want to sleep.

My son is 16 months and only began sleeping through the night on a regular basis a month ago. Unfortunately some babies just don't sleep through. My sister didn't until she was 3 years old!

I just stick to the same nightly routine. Although he may not sleep through the night, it makes it a lot easier to get him to sleep initially and when he wakesup during the night.

He will do it in his own time, and I know that's not particularly what you want to hear, but unfortunately it's true!

There are lots of methods out there which are meant to help. I don't know what you've tried, but research it. There are plenty of books, and the child health nurses should also have tips. I know in Australia they have classes for parents to teach them different methods. Hope this helps.
