Homemade ornaments, when my dauther was first born I went and bought a set of plaster mold ornament makers and every year (before she turned two) i would press her hand in and paint the ornament myself, but when she turned two I pressed her handprint in and handed over the paint brush to her, since she is now four her hand no longer fits the size of the mold so we put a cookie cutter shape in it before it dries and when it's does dry (overnight or a few hours, we do it before school in the morning and she is able to do it that night) I again hand over the paint brushes and voila! we have a lovely homemade keepsake. Also, you can buy card stock and finger paints and help her make homemade christmas cards.

I have seen so many neat "personal" projects. Finger painting things like pine cones or plain solid color ball ornaments. I had my son make his own Christmas stocking by getting a plain red one and it had glitter letter stickers with it and he put them on in little patterns. I LOVE putting it up every year now. Hand-print snow flakes, just put handprints in a circle. We also made Rice crispy treats and the used holiday cookie cutters to make fun shapes, just spread the crispy mix in a cookie sheet instead. Otherwise frosting and putting sprinkles on cut out baked sugar cookies is always a hit in our house! Have a great holiday season!

yarn projects. art like painting. All thing is really good for them, my son loves to paint, so we do it outside and since its in the 50s here (twitches needs snow) its warm enough for him to paint outside. You can also do easy crafts. I remember when i was in pre school i made a shooting star, all i had to do was glue and sprinkle glitter.
