I have to agree with the rest of the ladies....each child is DEFINATELY different and I use to get so upset wondering why my son was taking so much longer than the other kids......My son finally sat up on his own about 7 months..he didnt crawl till about 9 months and walked at 11 1/2 months....Hope this helps...dont get discouraged like me because I wish I still had to help him sit up on his own :-(

My son turned 5 months old, on Friday past (the 30th) .. during that week when he was still 4 months old, he was sitting up by himself, now this week it's better then ever.

A lot of people told me 6 months, but im sure they will do it when they are ready!

Try teaching them a few minutes of everyday, sitting them up, and letting them flop over in your arms, it helps !

Both my boys started sitting up about 5 months and crawled at 6-7 months. It depends on the child and how much tummy time they have.

My little boy is 7 months and is just now getting the hang of sitting on his own. He is also trying to learn to crawl now. I think all children are different. I have heard of a lot of peoples kids sitting at 4 months. I guess mine was a little slow, but he is fine in every other way

My son was sitting up at almost 5 months. Two weeks later he started crawling and about a month after that he was standing. And it only gets worse from there!!! Ha Ha!!

I know from my experiance my daughter starting sitting up at 5mon crawling at 6 and standing up at 7 and walking at 11mon.  My second daughter is also trying to sit up right now at 5mon. I dunno how old your baby is or what he is cappible of right now but what I do is I highly encourage. I set my daughter on the floor sitting down and put her hands in front of her and she pushes her self up so she dosn't fall. Let him do most of the work just put your arms around him so he dosn't fall. then put on floor in a crawling position and more their arms and legs. I think it really helps.  Hope this helps.
