I just was wondering how everyone felt about the baby einstein dvd's? Do you use them? Did you use them? Do you feel like a bad mom putting a dvd in for your baby then doing things around the house or having some "me" time?

Thanks everyone! I don't know why but I was feeling bad putting her in front of the tv! You all have reassured me and made me feel better! The one I have is like 28 minutes long and she will only handle 20 minutes before she wants to go onto her next activity! That sort of makes me feel good because knowing she wants to be done with it makes me feel like she won't get addicted. We have only watched it 3 times, I am not making it an everyday activity.

I used them with my first. I used pop one in and put her in her swing (or exersaucer when she got older) just so I could get a shower. I watched them with her too. I'm hoping my 2nd daghter will like them as well. I'm all for them!

our son won't sit down for the life of him. He's 21 months and would rather run around. As long as your not doing that for hours it should be fine. I wish our son would just sit and play (out of trouble) for just 30 min to get a little something done!

I think as long as the show the kids are watching are educational i have no problem with them. My kids have Baby Einstein DVD's too, also Sesame Street and Caillou.
They're not long, maybe 20 minutes

I think there is no problem with them especially when they are the calming ones for when the baby is litle or the learning ones as they start to get older, it's cool if you can help the little one to learn the concepts whether it is during the movie or after the movie, so like if you watch Baby Da Vinci, then later point out eyes, ears, nose.... It reinforces what they are learning and you get the 'me' time while they watch it and then you can talk about or even just point out to them the body parts when it is bath time, so it isn't just totally mind numbing.

i love them! my 15 month old does to, i usually watch them with him and point stuff out and talk to him about them, but they are great to entertain him for a while so i can do stuff! they really are adorable.

Both of my boys loved those movies. Its not being a "bad mom" to let them watch the movies so you can do stuff or have a little "me" time. Every mom needs a little "me" time in order to keep calm and collected :D
