My daughter is one month and I know it's not very old but I'm having trouble with not loosing weight fast enough. I feel sort of like I was robbed of my youth by having my kids younger cause I just don't feel like I can wear the clothes that someone my age would wear cause I just don't have the body anymore. Can anyone help me fee better about this???? Need some support.

Amanda,

I know exactly how you feel.  After I had my daughter I had the mindset that it would all just fall off and one day I'd wake up and be back to my prepregnancy condition.  Well unfortunately our bodies don't let that happen.  We are all different and some of us are blessed with losing it all at once, others need to work at it, and some just don't lose it at all.  But amanda, let me tell you it doesn't matter what you look like.  Yes it is very hard accepting to big or even the little changes, but just remember how you got them.  You brought a precious life into the world.  Also Amanda it has only been a month...you carried your child for approximately nine.  That is a long time for you body to just spring back.  Don't dwell on the negatives of the changes but rather the positives.  With time you will lose it.

If you want some advice on how to do so...my suggestion is to do it healthy.  Drink lots of water and juices low in sugar.  Eat right and eat light.  Do simple exercises at home while you have a min (I know our minutes as mothers are precious commodities).  And if you are breastfeeding, you will see the changes quicker.  But if you are not try those simple things.  But remember you are beautiful and it doesn' matter if you can fit into those old clothes...besides, this may be a great opportunity to buy a new wardrobe ;)

Take care

Thanks everyone for the comments they do help.  I am at a gym and trying to eat healthy and it's slowly working.  Hopefully my kids will help me work it off they are the most fun and totally worth it.  I'm definetly gonna work on accepting it more as with other things in life it's always what you make it.

With second babies you put on more weight.I was 23 when I got pregnant. I loved being pregnant it was the first time everything fit as it was supposed to. I gained 30 lbs in my pregnacy. My daughter is 11 months and I have lost most of it. It takes time.As for the clothes you will find you will care less when your baby is puking all over the clothes. If you still want to wear more age appropriate clothing buy it in a bigger size for now. They as the baby weight goes away you can get smaller sizes.

pregnancy should be the one time in your life you should not worry about weight. its all about your baby being healthy and that wont happen if you dont eat.

Hi,i didnt put on that much weight - about 9kgs with my first preg but it still took me a good 10months to get back to my normal weight.Just when i started feel good about my self we started trying for baby number 2, which happened sooner than expected even though we were trying. Im only 22wks and had a check up with the doctor only days ago, only to discover i've already put on 9kgs - now im worrying about how much more weight im going to put on by full term considering thats all i put on with my daughter.

I think its just going to take for 1) your body to adjust and 2) you be comfortable with your new changes. Take this time to enjoy your new baby and the weight will slowly slim down. It took you 9 months to gain 53lbs it may take that long to get rid of it. Eat healthy and have fun.

I was the same way, I was only 22 when I had my son, and he is now 15 months old and I am almost back down to my original weight. I was so worried that I wasn't going to loose the weight becuase I had gained 53 lbs throughout my pregnancy, by the time he was 3 months old, I was at 116 lbs. I am still 116 lbs, but I am happy with how I look and I wouldn't want to lose anymore weight because I was TOO skinny before I got pregnant. I wouldn't worry about it, you can wear what the SKINNY girls wear too, and you can look good in it as long as you feel comfortable and confident. I had to make myself realize that yes I may be bigger than I was but look at what you got out of it.

Are you breastfeeding? Breastfeeding is supposed to help you lose weight faster, it burns calories.

If your in a commited relationship, I wouldn't worry about it. Your BF, or husband shouldn't think any differently about you because look what you gave him. If he does look at you he is, excuse my language, but he is a piece of shit!!

Just think once your baby gets a little bit older you will be chasing her around and you will lose the weight. Just think positive, and join a gym if you really feel uncomfortable.

Hope this help's, sorry if it doesn't.
