Bad ALL DAY morning sickness, any suggestions?

I had extreme 'morning' ALL DAY sickness my entire pregnancy. Celery will be your best friend, even though it has no nutrients at least you can get something in your stomach... I used to eat celery with hot sauce or ranch dip I'm pretty sure that was all I ate for three months. Not really healthy for you but if you take your pre-natal vitamins its at least something.... Also it could be your pre-natals making you even more sick. I know when I changed mine it got a little better even though it was still horrible for the entire time. I was soooo happy when I finally had my son because I didn't have to throw up every time I ate anymore haha.

vitamin B6 worked well for me. 25-50 mg twise a day. Also ambian helps, but knows you out.

Hi there! I was sick ALL DAY through my ENTIRE pregnancy!! I feel your pain. My doc had me on Zofran 8mg. Its an rx. He also had me on Meclizine I believe 5mg. The meclizine is an over the counter sea sickness med, but my dr actually prescribed it for me. You could also try ginger pills, its a natural way to go. I tried phenergen, which helped, but my doc said zofran was safer and worked better. Also Reglan, but I had a nasty reaction to it. Hope this helps and you feel better!

I was sicker than sick with all mine, and I tried every prescription out there- the only thing that worked was GINGER! Believe it or not, and its completely safe, unlike the Rx meds. Either ginger tea, or hard candy or chews. I dont like the taste, but it really did settle my stomach.

Im so sorry that you are going through the morning sickness. I FEEL YOUR PAIN!. I only have 1 child who is 16 mo and I had the worst first trimester EVER!. Not only did I throw up ALL DAY, ALL AFTERNOON, ALL NIGHT, I also has a cyst on my ovaries which caused me pain until about 4 months into my pregnancy as well. What I noticed helped with my morning sickness is eating, eating, eating. And I don't mean EVERYTHING, but always keeping your stomach full. I noticed when I didn't eat, or skipped a meal, then tried eating when I was hungry, I would throw it up within like 10 min. Also, keep snacks by your bed at night and first thing in the morning so you can eat something WHENEVER you feel hungry. Also, my prenatal pills made me sick, so my doctor advised me to take it only twice a week and at night, and that also helped. Try to stay away from fried foods or greasy foods, and try to eat foods with citric in it like pineapples, oranges, or suck on lemons. I hope this helps!. Good luck ;-)

My first pregnancy was horrible.. sick the 1st trimester- day and night... my 2nd came along when my 1st was 6 months old... no morning sickness... just developed milk allergies 2nd trimester which passed... but somethings i had heard or read to try were flintstones chewable vitamins... they make prego pops that are sold online and at babies r us- weird flavors like lavendar etc... but they work- and cancer patients use them to cope with chemo... also a warm caffeine free coke... helps to soothe the stomach.. i used to drink one every morning..hope these help...

I had hyperemisis with all three pregnancys, so my heart and prayers go out to you. Nothing ever worked for me but I was treated with zofran through a cath in my leg and iv's at home. I also took reglan and benedryl every four hours. I have heard that the zofran pump is a mirical for a lot of women.
I know a woman that only takes a nutritional regimine and it controls her hyperemesis. If I had known then I would ave done that. I could get you in touch with her if you would like to know more about what she is doing.

my doc gave me Zofran and Fennigrin and also told me to avoid grease and dairy on the really bad days since they can be harsh on the stomach... bland foods only like dry toast or crackers (then again i was at the point where i couldn't even keep crackers and water down and benedryl wasn't helping any)

Hi Melody, i went to get acupuncture and it helped right away- i was nauseous for 4 months and the only things i was able to eat was watermelon and milkshakes. I tried Zofran and it didn't work, and i tried something called Kytril, which worked really well, but i started getting headaches (which i get frequently, so i dont know if that was a side effect), and i took something for the headaches which made me nauseous, so then i took kytril and would get headaches, so i went to an acupuncturist who knows how to do acupuncture thats safe for pregnant women, and it helped right away!

I was sick 24/7 for 9 months. If you go to the drug store you can get these wrist bands that are for morning sickness and motion sickness I found that they helped. also eating celery and apple slices help some. good luck

I used Nauzeene(sp), you should be able to find it at Wal-Mart or something. My doctor said it was safe to have while pregnant and it worked amazingly well! Try it :-)

I took diclectin during the first little bit of my pregnancy, and it helped immensely. I also lived on freezies. I would wake up when my husband would get up to get ready for work, and he would bring me a freezie in bed, I would take my pill, then get up and stretch out on the couch for a few hours munching on Lays regular chips, or salted tortilla chips.
This next part is gross, but if it was a really bad day and I was still sick after all that, at least the freezies would make it taste ok so it wasn't as bad. I know, disgusting, but when you're throwing up at least twice a day you do what you can to make it bearable.

My doctor gave me phenergan, which worked like a charm! I wouldn't take it if you have a toddler, though, because it knocked me out for the next day and a half. I only took it if I absolutely HAD to.

Zolfran is awesome however also you may have Hyperemesis Gravdium in which case nothing lie likely to help. I had this and it came with each child. With my now 7 year old It got easier as the pregnancy went on. With my 9 month old I threw up the whole time and couldn't keep down water. The doctors told me if I got pregnant again there was still nothing they could do and the illness gets worse each progressive pregnancy. If this is the case I am so very very sorry.

I had the same problem. I sure got sick of the doctor yelling at me to stop loosing weight! The doctor can prescribe a medication for you if you want. I didn't know about the medicine while I was pregnant so I drank a lot of Ensure/instant breakfast type drinks. It was the only food like thing I could keep down and at least it has healthy calories and vitamins. I also drank a lot of peppermint tea with ginger powder mixed in. It really helped to settle my stomach.

Your doctor should what meds to give you just ask for them though they don't always work. I tried several that my doc gave me and none of them worked some made me throw up more. I had morning sickness till I gave birth though,

I was sick throughout my entire pregnancy and nothing worked exept this chew cinnimon gum like big red there is something in cinnimon that helps with it

Actually, the best thing that worked for me was the bands/braclets that you could wear on your wrist for sea/motion sickness. I wore mine for almost 2 months and seems to help cut back on frequency and sharpness of the nausia. I got mine at a local pharmacy for fairly inexpensive too. i was sick from about 4am til 1pm everyday from 4wks until i was put on Phenergan (generic Promethazine), because i lost 15 pounds in 3 days. I would still be sick occasionaly, but if i could keep the pill down for 30-45 minutes, i was good for the day. this worked for about 2 to 3 months. I then had to get Zofran ODT (generic Ondansetron), a dissolving tab, that i used in addition to the Phenergan, when i needed it during the day. It was like this up until 8 months or so. i also had to be induced at 8 days late and didn't deliver for 38 hours.

My morning sickness hasn't been too bad, but I found that eating anything sour gets rid of it at least for a few minutes:
Green apples
Preggie pops
Grapes
I even drink propel (has vitamin B6 that helps with the morning sickness) cause drinking lots of water makes me nauseous.
And as weird as it sounds even potato chips, I heard someone else say that salt and vinegar potato chips worked for her.
But most of my morning sickness went away when I started taking my vitamins at night. When I took them in the morning I was nauseous all day and since I started taking them before bedtime it has gotten a lot better. Hope you feel better soon!

i myself never got morning sickness, but my mum when she was pregnant with me suffered really bad. my dad used to make her every morning either a black tea or blackcurrant tea with a plate of milk arrowroot biscuts and that worked for her maybe it might work for you too. also try and find some ginger lollies too suck on just before you go to bed of a night time and one fist thing in the morning. good luck hope that helps

when i was pregnant with my son i had bad morning sickness every day all day and nothing seem to work. My sister in law brought me the travel sickness bands that you wear on ur wrist and i wore them everyday. You can buy them from a chemist and they seem to work a little for me if u would like to give them a go instead of medication

hi, i had the same thing happen to me with my third baby who is now 7 month old i was sick from 5 weeks pregnant right to the day i had him and it was horrible. I spoke to my doctor and he put me on maxalon which is safe right the way through the pregnancy and works great with no side effects although it can make some people sleepy, but i was also on zofran wafers for a little while aswell and they are good to.Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon, good luck.

try having ginger, ginger nut biscuits put ginger in ur tea etc. i suffered terrible "morning" it was all day every day, sickness with my son for the entire 9months i never really found something that worked great, but i found eater small portions more often seemed to make a difference it seemed to be worse if i got hungry. I dont know where u r, but im in aus and i had one injection of maxallon. i wasnt actually aware i was pregnant then as i hadnt missed my period yet but id been vomiting for 2weeks straight lol. im not sure if its recommended for pregnancy but if its not that one there is another one along the same lines and u can get it in tablet form.

one word... Zofran. It is a miracle drug. I took it once a day through the entire pregnancy. Its the only reason I survived it, but you do have to get your ob doc. to give you a script. Hope it works for you.

I had pretty bad morning sickness when I was pregnant and ginger chews helped a good bit. You can get them at Target. Most of the time you can find them with the candy at the register. They're a little spicey but did the trick for me. I ate so many of them that I'm a little sick to my stomach now just thinking about them. Good luck!!

Ginger gravol in small doses helps to get some food in you and then just make sure that u keep eating... all day long... one long meal... snack all day, its the only natural way... i had a box granola bars tucked between my bed and the wall for the first 4 months of my pregnancy so that i when i woke up in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning, i'd eat something before i even got outta bed, then go have breakfast and then a snack and then lunch.... u get the idea... and lots of water... don't let yourself get dehydrated cuz that will make it worse... if that doesn't work then ur doctor can offer you a prescription... the crackers didn't work for me either, but i found that eating as normally as possible in smaller amounts more frequently worked very well for me.... good luck

Oh! or you could ask your doctor about taking a natural ginger vitamin supplement, i personally didn't try it but my MIL suggested it as an option, she said it worked for her.

I was like you could really eat for 4months. My doctor had me eat sample meals 12x a day, all I could eat was oatmeal, potatoes/rice. The doctor said juice fruits like watermelon, etc would help and they did. AVOID any form of apples, it will upset the gastric jucies.
I also was prescribed 2 meds... a pill (day time use not drowsy) and Promethazine 25mg suppositories (really helped but made me drowsy so only at night

I didn't read any of the other messages but I was sick my entire pregnancy! I was give diclectin and I was on 4 pills a day till the very end of my pregnancy. It helped a ton! I tried everything too and nothing worked. I went to an ultrasound being sick. So try that!

Purity have a mama lolipops and mama tea, they ginger in them. I found it helps me a lot, also ginger ale and ginger biscutes ♥ Hope you feel better soon

I know morning sickness is a very bad thing to exerience...infact it sucks...you can try Tablet Doxinate...which is specifically for morning sickness..Trust me it's absolutely safe during pregnancy..even i tried it and it worked..

what i would do in the morning as soon as i would wake up is have crackers but still be lying down...then slowly get up and actually sit up...it really helped me...gingerale was really soothing too...good luck

I know you're pain. I was sick all day every day for the whole pregnancy. But, there were little things that made it better. I think for every woman, there's your own little things that work. I tried sea sickness wrist bands, salt & vineger chips, just about everything.

You can get prenatal vitamins that have ginger and what not in them, they specifically say they help to alleviate morning sickness. I went out and bought this Mother's Bliss, Morning Sickness Remedy stuff at CVS pharamacy. I was just too nauseas to take that without throwing it back up. Don't stand for too long. I was a cashier, and days I was on my feet all day were way worse than days at home. Drink water. The foods I could handle in the mornings were egg mcmuffins at McDonalds and peanut butter crackers. I don't know why. They also say carry mints on you (lifesavers spearmint), if anything at least you'll have mint breath. Good luck to you. I had to ask for help and find my own remedies too, my doctor was useless.

hi, sorry if this is redundant (sp), i didnt read the about posts. my dr put me on vit b6 and unisom. the combo of the 2 works to stop nausea. its takes a week or 2 to actually work because it has to build up in ur system. i believe it was a b6 and 1/2 of unisom in the am and a b6 and whole unisom at night. i never felt tired from the unisom because the b6 gave me the energy to reverse it but it definitely worked for the nausea. good luck you!

Try "preggie drops" or "preggo pops" it's a hard candy that has real ginger in it. Those candies saved me when it came to morning sickness. They come in little hard candies, and suckers too. They also come in different flavors. I found them at Babies-R-Us, and health food stores.

Sipping lemonade (the citrus helps take the bad taste out of your mouth) or ginger ale were the big things that helped me. I also made sure that I ate every couple of hours because I tend to have low blood sugars and the doctor said the baby would just suck the sugar out of me. I would normally drink diet pop but I had to switch to regular pop to help keep my sugar up during day too. Make sure you take your vitamins at night just before bed because the vitamins will upset your stomach too. My doctor was also able to give me some prescription vitamins that had something extra in there to help with the nausea.

I had Hyperemesis with my first and i had it for about 7 months. I lost 25lbs the first 4 days. I flushed 150$ worth of Diclectin in about a week. NOTHING helped me and i couldn't even keep water down. I was in and out of the hospital and when i was in there it was the only time i did feel ok because i was hooked on IV's and getting fluids that way. Once the all day sickness went away i was then admitted for pre-term labor and i was in this labor for 4 days before being sent home and being told they gave me the max dose of meds to stop labor.
Try to get in under control now for sure. Some people just can't handle pregnancy. My first born was a boy, and EVERY one said it was a girl cause i was so sick. My second was a girl and I had morning sickness and i was in heaven!LOL
Check this link to see if it's what you have, if you aren't as sever then just try to eat dry things with some salt to help the nausea. Also keep crackers next to your bed to eat before getting out of bed. I also don't recommend eating anything you like until this stage passes...i still can't eat some foods i got sick on and it was 3 years ago lol.

i had 3 childrfen, sickness with my oldest was the worst all day for all 9 months. 2 suggestions that really helped me. 1: keep some saltines and either room temp ginger ale or sprite. when u wake up, before u pee, or get out of the bed, eat some of the crackers and some warm ginger ale/sprite. wait about 5-10 minutes atleast before u get out of the bed. this eally helped, the crackers alone did nothing, but the 2 together made a difference for the entire day, it seemed to settle my stomach at the beginning so it didnt get too bad with my last 2. 2: with my first, i ate honey nut cheerios every morning with milk to help settle it, if i didnt, i was hugging the white porcrlain bowl all day.

peppermint of any kind and ZOFRAN were my life saving graces lol i couldnt even keep water down till i got i zofran i was dehydrated and in the hospital and lost over30 lbs in a mnth also ginger in any form helped hope it gets better for you hun

with my first pregnancy I stayed sick the first three months and lost 20 pounds, the doctor I had gave me meclazine (sp) It helped but made me feel wiped out.
