My two month old has acid reflux like her older sister did as a baby..since she already has a problem pooping the dr said to put barley in her bottle instead of rice. We started last night and she is rediculously gassy and miserable. She has had two loose stools(which isnt normal for her) as well. I never had this issue with her sister! Could she be allergic or does her stomach have to get used to it?

thank you, i can nurse her but i have such a little bit that she is starving after, its only like an ounce all together if im lucky..ill prob call the dr tomorrow if it keeps up. I know your not supposed to start cereal yet but with reflux it coats the stomach and keeps the formula down more

her tummy's too young for any kind of solid food. the loose stools and such are a normal reaction to food she's not ready for yet, plus more spitup. 4-6 mo. is the usual time for starting cereal, which is not recommended to put in bottles ever.

i don't suppose you could nurse her, instead of bottle feeding?

i don't really have any other recommendations, none of my gals had reflux troubles. I'd call the doc again.
