By that age, I wouldn't be as comfortable being nude in front of my daughter as now, but try putting on a swim suit(or go nude if comfy with it) and get in the tub with her. Show her how you wash your hair, and then let her wash hers. She might not do as good of a job as you, but practice makes perfect!! Good luck!

You know, I have the same problem and I also did with my oldest. She freaks out and gasps for breath and tries to stand up when i do it. She helps wash her hair and thinks that's great, but when I rinse it she panicks. I may try goggles and see if that helps, but I don't know if it will.

The only thing that worked for me was to count to three and the dump the water. It let him know when it was coming and let him prepare himself a bit. good luck.

There are visors that you could buy that are just like a regular hat sun visor but it is made of a foam material and it velcros in the back... Also there are cup/pichers you can get with a rim that is curved and cushioned to fit to your childs forehead. Hope that helps. Also see if your child wants to plug her ears when putting her hair under water.

I have tried that too but even when she pours water on herself she cries.... She just hates water on her head!

Maybe u could see if she wants to wash her hair herself.... My son used to freak out heaps when i used to wash his face and hair in the beginning, and that was mostly my fault now we take turns washing his hair and he loves it.... Try seeing if she wants to do it or u could try and make a game out of it... Like she could wash a dolls hair while you wash hers etc.... Hope that helps

My son is the same way, but I guess his main concern was the water that pours over his eyes. So he requested that I have a dry face towel ready to wipe his eyes dry immediatly after pour down. Since then he cries when the water is intially poured but the second I wipe his eyes, it's like nothing ever happened and he's back to splashin round

Yes, we tried holding her while we showered but she still screams. I have no idea why she reacts this way, the shampoo does not burn. She just hates water on her head and face. Last night I even decided not to was her hair just her body. When it came time to rinse the soap off her body she was afraid I was going to pour the water on her head and started to cry and trying to get out!

Wow...that sounds very frustrating. Do you know of any reason why she reacts this way? Since moving back to my home town and having a different schedule, I have found it easier to have my daughter take showers with me. She doesn't like water in her face, but otherwise she is fine. Have you tried doing something like that? I'm sorry I really don't have any good advice for you. Good luck!
