Belly Measuring really far ahead?

I always measured 2 weeks farther along than what the doctor said my edd was he induced me at 39 weeks 4 days by his calculations 41 weeks by my calculations my son was 8'15 and was way to big for me to deliver so i ended up having a csection ...so just enjoy your pregnancy and rest while you can cause when that babies here there is no more rest for a while gl

I measured big with my son. I think I was about 5cm bigger than I should have been so I was sent for a scan at 35 weeks. Turned out it was just the position he was laying in that was causing the measurements to be out, but they did think he was going to be on the larger size at at least 9lb. Not too bad I suppose but considering I am only 5'3 and a Aus/UK size 8 it was a pretty big bub for me.

I had him 2 days later and he was 6lb 1oz

I had the same problem my whole pregnancy. I had way to much amniotic fluid. As far as I know there really was no cause for it, but he did freak me out a lot about possible causes. My son is almost 2 months. He is healthy 8 lbs 10 oz when he was born at 39 weeks. The ultrasound tech called him Thor cause he was big. It is scary, but don't worry to much you won't really know anything for sure until he/she is born.

They cant be accurate on how big the baby is. I was the right size for weeks and my dr said I was going to have an 8lb baby. I had him two weeks early and he was just under 7. Just dont fret over it. There is nothing you can do anyways really lol. My friend is currently pg with her first and she is a bigger girl too and she is now 35 weeks and has been measuring over by two weeks for two months now. She has had a couple u/s to check the baby and that too is bigger than should be so they upped her due date. That could be good news. Good luck.

I was induced with my son as sono and measurements guessed that he was dangerously close to the 11lb mark (they will not try for a vaginal delivery with a child that large as it can pose a major life threat to baby and mom alike) my son was delivered at 7lbs 9oz. Don't fret about the size they tell you now, kick back, relax, and enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy =)

Yeah see my OB already told me he does not induce unless for serious problems etc. He told me he used to but guesses ended up being wrong like you said and babies end up being a lot smaller which can cause problems. He won't induce me even if my baby is 10 pounds.

I was measuring r weeks ahead and my doctor told me the same that I was gonna have a big baby so she induced me at 38 weeks.. Come to find out I had a lot of amniotic fluid.. My guy only weighed 7lbs 11 oz

Hey thanks a lot for the reply. Well that's such a perfect size for your little one :). My only concern was genes. Myself I was a 7 pound 2 ounce baby, but my fiance was 9 pounds 8 ounces. My fiances 4 year old son was 10 pounds 12 ounces, he had him with a previous wife. His side has big baby genes. I know genes do play a big role too. I'll see what the scan has to say but thanks for clearing this up, either way I'm happy

Hi there, I had the same problem! By 32 weeks I was measuring 38 so I was sent for a growth scan at 38 weeks preg, only problem with those are that they aren't acurate with average to big babies so they gave me an estimate of no more that 9lb at birth which i was happy about as midwife scared the life out of me saying I'm having one over 10lb lol especially as I was having a planned homebirth, I was still measuring over 42 a week later!! I myself am overweight too but was told no matter what size you are measuring with a tape is really inaccurate and the best way is by the midwife/consultants hands. Baby mollie born 7 weeks ago at home weighing 7lb 150z!! All that stress and worry for nothing haha good luck x
