Better communication!

My husband and I have been together for 8 years before we decided to get married. We wll be married 1 year on July 19th. We have 3 children(6,3,1month). We dont communicate like we should or do nothing at all together besides sleep. Let me remind you that we live in a little town with nothing much here or nothing exciting to do for young people. What are some ways we could communicate better and do things together? Any reccommendations and comments will be greatly appreciated.

I'm kinda going through the same thing hun. Since we are strapped on money, we never go out. So I tried to think of some ways to have fun together with out spending money. I suggested card/board games and he wasn't interested either. I suggested a picnic at the park and other things like that. He just kept shooting down all my ideas. So now it's really we either watch t.v together or do our own separate thing. Ex: I'll hang out in front of the computer and he plays his x-box. We will be married 2 yrs this December. So I feel your frustration. -Lexy

Thanks Devon, but he donest like going to the movies, playing board games or none of that and when I do try and talk to him it always turn into attutude or argument. We have tried to go to dinner what he still doesn't talk bout us. This was not the way I thought our marriage would go. I am also going to a couselor for my ppd (postpartum depression) and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I realy want my marriage to work. Any more suggestions

If you have family close by and a movie theatre, go to the movies and then for dinner together or vise versa. does he like playing any kind of bored games? if so, play some games together. or just one night when the kids are in bed, turn the television off and tell him that you just want to talk to him and communicate better. hope this helped a bit and good luck :)
