I've been on one of the pills for about a year now. Things were going ok until november of last year, when I missed a period. Since then I've missed about half of my periods, but everytime I take a home pregnancy test, it's negative. Has anyone else missed more than one period while on the pill? I know a coupld of the misses were probably stressed related, but I can't explain the others. Any thoughts?

I hear you Jacky. My first pregnancy was whilst on the pill! I never missed a period unintentionally, though I was prone to skipping the sugar pills and thus missed my period farily often due to that. If it worries you, I'd go see your GP.

I use to be on birth control pills for a few years. I didn't miss a peroid, but I was also a rare expection. I got pregnant with my son while on the pill.

I don't know exactly what kind of hormones are in them. all i know is that they're regular 28 day pills. my periods were going fine for about 6 months or so, then started getting lighter and shorter, until finally I missed one. when I do get them, they are on time, but sometimes I just spot for a day and then that's it. I'm going to see about getting something different and see if it's just the pill itself that is doing it. time to go to the doctor anyway soon.

Some pills do make your periods irregular.
Progesterone only pills are they?
Both the injection and the implant i now have stopped my periods and they release progesterone.

I've missed periods while on the pills and I've been on bc pills for 11 years now. However, I had irregular cycles prior to the pills. The pills were used for me to regulate my period and control my ovarian cysts. But I've still even missed periods after all of these years of being on it. It can come from a number of things-- stress is something that can cause it as well....Sometimes I'd have a different type of flow as well. It would still be good to get checked. Let us know how it goes if you get checked out.

I would definitely see the GP. I think it's unusual to miss periods on the pill.
