I just started the pill a month ago, i finished the first cycle and am 3 days into the next cycle but I haven't had a preiod, is this normal?? I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this??

Alisha- I just switched from the pill to the Nuva ring and after my second month I did not get a period. I called my ob because like you I didn't know if this was normal and they told me that it is normal to skip a period with some birth control. I don't know for sure if it is normal with all birth control but your body could be getting used to all the hormones and that could be the reason.

I have been on the pill again since having my son for about 10 months, and it still takes about 3-4, sometimes even 5 days for me to start my period! Totally normal!

i got pregnant on the pill too and i was on it for 2 1/2 years, take a test if your not sure or go back to the docs and ask for something different if possible

well i would personally take a test just to be sure..i was on the pill religiously and still got pregnant!

Its probably just your body getting use to the pill.. I know when i switch my birth control, it took alittle while for my periods to be "regular". They were speratic. One month I would have it on the 20th... and then the next it would be say like on the 8th the next. Let your body get use to it, It will work itself out. Just becareful, not to scare you, but i got pregnant off the pill, it was orthotrycycln Low. I was on it for about 6 yrs, so just be careful, and good luck!!

thanks, it is just kinda nerve wracking i have never missed a period on the pill so this is new to me

Yes that is normal.. I wouldn't worry about it unless it's something that turns out to be continuous to a degree where it would be a problem...that used to happen to me when I was on the pill. Happens to alot of people.

If you skip the sugar pills (if you are not an Aussie and don't call them that, they are the 7 different colored ones that you start with on the first day of your period when you first start the pill) you will not get a period. The other recommendations that we are given in Australia is to continue with condoms until AFTER the first cycle and first period after starting the pill, as it is not as reliable until after the first month.
