Hi all I was just wondering if anyone suffered from nose bleeds during their pregnancies. I am currently having at least one almost every day sometimes more than one a day. I am 26 weeks pregnant and have been having them for a little over a week. I will be discussing it with my midwife in two weeks but i wanna know if its normal before i go see her, and what can I do about it?? Its starting to drive me crazy.

I was told that the reason I was getting nose bleeds while pregnant was because my iron levels were low. I would talk to the doctor and have the levels checked.

Yup - nose bleed is my first sign that Im pregnant. The vessels in the nose become fragile during pregnancy and nose bleeds are not uncommon. If they are more than just mild ones then I would get them checked out just to be on the safe side - unfortunately Idont really know what you can take to help with them. Dont tilt your head back - contrary to popular belief its not necessary all it does is drive the blood down your throat rather than out of your nose. Just lightly pinch your nose with a tissue so that the blood clots and the bleeding stops.

untill you hear from your midwife i would just stock up on tissues nd maybe try a cold wet flannel to slow the bleeding down. I can't remember what causes Pregnancy nose bleeds but i cant remember what causes them. hang in there.
