Okay Moms - the great debate! Breast milk versus formula!

Im fully aware of the benefits breast milk offers BUT I am also aware that many mothers cannot breastfeed due to medical problems.

Please tell me your honest opinion - I dont care to hear anyone bashing others for their CHOICE.

I believe breast milk is best but I haven't been able to breastfeed long term with either of my kids I have low supply to my great sadness so after about 3 months both my kids went on formula full time. Breastfeeding provides a connection I just didn't get with the formula I had to be holding my baby and focusing on them with formula I could give them a bottle and go do something else it was just about nutrition.

formula. because i'm evil when i'm trying to breastfeed. breastmilk is obviously better nutrition wise.

Thanks for your opinion ladies! My son is almost 6 years old and he wasnt breast fed because I couldnt at the time for medical reasons. My hubby and I are planning on getting pregnant within the year and this is the great debate going on in our house. Although we both agree breast is best... Im just very nervous about breast feeding; what it will do to my body, dad not being able to feed etc. My son was a happy baby with formula and he is healthy, and very smart (so I dont believe the IQ debate).

Well I don't think it matters as long as you feed your baby with love. I used formula with my daughter and she is just as happy and healthy as my son that t breast feed.

Breast was best for me, because I was able to do it with both my babies.

BUT whatever way your baby is fed, whether breast or formula for whatever reason, be it that you can't breast feed or don't want to is the best option for you and your baby. What I am saying is as long as the baby is fed when they need to be and is doing well, what does it matter if the milk came out of the boob or a bottle.

Hands down, best is breast. It's tailor made for each baby (saliva and breast glands 'communicate') However, formulas have come a long way and if you can't breastfeed, there is no reason there should be ANY guilt whatsoever, there is no reason that a formula fed baby will have any issues because they were 'not breast fed'.
