Hi, I have a 10 month old daughter who seems to have a cold. Her nose is running and she has a cough. I have NO idea how to help her feel better without resorting to giving her Tylenol. She doesn't have a fever and I don't think giving her unnecessary medication is a good idea. She always gets a bath at night but it just seems to make it worse as her nose runs even more. Any help??

Brauer makes a natural remedy called recovery tonic give that to her. Baby balsam is good too. Try raising her cot a bit, stick a pillow under her mattress so her heads a bit higher it works for ear ache, post nasal drip etc. Also try giving her a multi vitamin every morning after breakfast. You get one for 0 - 3 years it's called Pentavite. My 8 1/2 month has only ever had 1 cold. They say babies get approx. 10 colds by the time they're 2 so just stick it through their tough little things.

I don't know if you can use regular vaporub on babies. But they do make a babyvapo rub. I think its a bit different.

I just wanted to say thank for the help you guys. I never would have guessed that they even had vapor rub that was suitable for babies. It's a life saver, thanks for the great tip.

The Vaporub is the best stuff ever! After a bath, rub it on and it's sweet dreams. It's ok that her nose runs after she gets out of the tub. You want it to come out. It's no fun having a clogged nose.

Oh ya, and try tickling her nose. She cant blow her nose yet, but she can sneeze it out!

BABY VAPORUB! the stuff is a life saver! My 14 month old is sick right now too, she keeps waking up crying because she is so stuffy she can't breath. Rub some on his chest and back, she falls right back asleep. Also on the bottoms of thier feet then put socks on, sound odd, seems to work.

My docotor has also once suggested to bundle them up and take them outside to breathe some cool air. Usually helps.
