Peanut butter protein does pass to breastmilk so does milk protein. If you've been consuming dairy this whole time I doubt that it's that. There was a brief time where I thought my daughter had a milk protein allergy at 6 months. My lactation consultant said that the allergy setting in that late is very rare. If you just ate peanut butter for the first time then it could be that. When you eliminate something from your diet it can take a couple weeks to be out of your system. My daughter has gotten a rash that wasn't food related. Her pediatrician said their skin is pretty sensitive. Hers turned out to be irritated dry skin so I got different lotion and it went away. People can also have allergic reactions to food they've not had a problem with in the past. You can keep a food log and do one food at a time to see if you notice a link.

Thanks All. She doesn't eat much. Just some blended veggies and she's eaten that often with no reaction. No new soaps or meds. But again the rash appeared faintly this morning when I nursed her. I'm wondering if it's PB that I started eating or dairy or something similiar. I'll prob just start eliminating everything and then start fresh with what I eat. Can decide if it's what she's consuming or something in her environment....

If they are not eating anything but your breastmilk. Yes it can.
ir they are eating foods than i would suggest doing some research yourself and monitor your childs foods and see what s/he ate and keep them simular throughout the day so it is easier to pin point. But also if they had been on meds, diff soaps exc... take that into consideration also!! Hope this helps

My daughter had a allergic reaction to amoxicillian (sp?) after she had an ear infection?
Have you changed laundry detergent?
Maybe its something he ate.

has he been sick and had a fever recently? mine at one time had a rash like that and it turned out that it was common for them to have a rash after it...not sure why, but its harmless...if that isnt the case, what kinds of new foods have you introduced the baby to? definitely remember that you need to give new foods a week to see if your baby will have a reaction to it. thats about the best way to know if your baby is allergic to certain foods.
