im guessing im about 8 weeks along now, haven't been able to see a dr. yet. since the morning sickness well "all day" sickness has kicked in, there are days that i will feel like im gonna be sick and all i do is dry heave. i will have just eaten and i know i have food or at least fluids in my stomach but nothing comes up. im scared it might hurt the baby, anyone know if it can or not???

As a nurse let me assure you that the action of dry heaving in and of itself will not hurt your baby. As long as you make sure you are staying hydrated, you should be fine. As a mom I'll tell you that I often dry heaved instead of throwing up too even when I had just eaten. Not sure why. Maybe because your body doesn't really need to get rid of food like it does when you have an infection?

i dry heaved through the first 3 mo with my second. only threw up a few times. it won't hurt the baby who at 8weeks is about the size of a robins egg. the dry heaves feel more uncomfortable for you but it's the same muscles as regular puking.
