My obgyn told me it was fine as long as I was in a very ventilated area. And I hope I spelled that right lol. But I put highlights in my hair when I was about 7 months pregnant and made sure I wasn't in my tiny bathroom, I also sat infront of a fan so I wouldn't breathe in the fumes.

The smell isn't the greatest but also the dye generally will not take well due to body chemistry during pregnancy. You are better off waiting.

o my doctor told me that i can just do it in an open area open a window or something the only effect it has is your hormones might change the color to something you dont want the best time to do it when your pregnant is in your 2 trimester. i dyed mine when i was in my 2 trimester.

My Dr told me that it was ok as long as your out of the 1st trimester. My friend dyed hers when she was 8 months and the dye washed out in a couple of days. It has something to do with the hormones. Your hair wont keep the color unless you bleach it first and that is not recommended.

i think that it is up to yu :) personally i am going to get mine done at 8 months, so its nice and new for photos :) it use to not be reccomended as the used alot of chemicals and found it could travel through the placenta. these day and ages of organic dye, or normal dye, that they have lessnd the chemicals i think it would be safe. ive never heard of any one have a baby born with birth defects soley based on hair dye. like i said it is up to you :)

My dr told me it is ok. But it dont not turn out right cus of all the hormones in your body. I dyed mine when i was pregnet with my oldest. i would just ask your dr.

I agree with ^^
I had my hair highlighed once during pregnancy(foiled) and I made sure it was perfectly safe from my OB doctor as well as asking the hairdresser. I think they just stay away from peroxide or something. Verify with your doctor.

I was told there isnt a known fact of what dying your your hair during pregnancy does, youre advised not to, to be on the safe side and my midwife said u can if u want to, i bleached my hair twice whilst i was pregnant and had no side effects and gave birth to perfectly healthy baby boy!

my hairdresser wouldn't do a full dye on my hair when i was pregnant, but she would let me do foils. she said because the dye doesn't actually touch your skin with foils that it's not an issue (my dr agreed with her)

If you wanna dye your hair I heard you can use organic dye only. I wouldn't use anything untill the baby is born to be safe. Hope I helped.

Its not recommended. It has more to do with the smell than anything; their is also not a lot of research doen about the chemicals going into your body from the dye. I suggest you wait until after the baby is born, or you can do what I did, I got some of the moouse hair colour (its temporary) and used that with my bathroom windows open and the fan going. I was about 8 1/2months preggy when I did that an I was fine.
Congrats on the pregnancy. :)
