Can I put a pill in my daughters crib for her to lay on to be more comfortable? She is now 11 months and I was wondering if you can yet. She tries to make a pillow out of her blanket but then she gets cold without her blanket.

The advice in the UK is no duvets or pillows until the age of one. I'm not planning on giving our son a pillow when he turns one though.

i would say yes? we do not have one in our daughters crib, BUT i like watching teen mom, and my bf pointed out HEY that baby is younger than nat and has a HUGE pillow in her crib! she is still living so i figure its fine.

Ya i would just use a flat pillow. My son is 14 months and doesn't have a pillow. He seems to sleep fine without it.

i wouldnt my son is 21 months old and has never had a pillow, i know everyone is saying if they can move their head about etc then yes but i would be careful as even tho they may be able to move around there is still the risk of sufforcationg especially if your child sleeps on their tummy x

My son has a teddy bear that he uses as a pillow. They sell mini pillows, like travel pillows, kid sized. They sell them at walmart, I don't see any problem with it.

I think it sould be fine. My daughter slept better with a pillow than without, I gave her one at around 11 months. Just get a "breathable" one that's flat, not all fluffy :)

my daughter uses a pillow for her naps in her crib. its the only way i can get her to nap during the day but i also check in on her about every ten mins or so just to make sure. she doesnt get a pillow at night time yet, but soon she will. good luck :)

i go with what brenda said put it under his sheet due to he can put it over his face and if he's pulling the blanket over his face i would keep an eye on that so nothing happens through out the night

You can just buy a very flat pillow...just about anywhere. I had a flat pillow that my mom gave me when I was younger and I used that. My daughter doesn't seem to mind it and if she doesn't want it anymore she just throws it to the opposite side of her crib. I think its safe as long as you get a flat one and just kind of monitor how she does with it. Maybe try using it during naps first and then work your way to all night.

Yep! I agree with Brenda. Put it under a tight fit bedsheet that she can't pull up or anything and you should be 100% fine!

I started sleeping my son on a babies pillow when he was about 3 weeks old. Its tiny. I know it's recommended that you sleep them flat, but he slept heaps better when I gave him the pillow. I think it may have had something to do with him being used to falling asleep on my breast after feeding. I did the same as Brenda, just put it under the sheet he is sleeping on.

my daughter is 10 1/2 months & just started using a pillow. i wasn't originally going to give her 1 til she was in a toddler bed but her grandparents got her one of those pillow pets (the lady bug one--they r SO cute)...well she got really attached to it n drug it to bed 1 night so i said to heck with it n let her sleep with it that night. n it hasn't left the crib since! honestly tho she has always been a good sleeper but she has been even better since the pillow...sleeping in longer just seems more comfy n cozy--it may b a coincidence...but its worth a shot...no harm can come of it. ur daughter is 11 months so she knows how to move around plenty, so i say y not...give it a try:)

My son does the same thing with his blanket and he has a pillow in his bed. I think for him it is a comfort thing! My son is 22 months old and in a toddler bed.

Thanks Corrinne and thanks Tajma, but I think I will try the pillow since everyone else says it should be OK.

If she already is trying with her blanket then why not? I would just use a flatter pillow and no slip.
