I am 14 weeks pregnant and i have not been able to get over this horrible morning/ all day sickness!! :( I wake up hungry, which is good im sure, but after i eat its like my gag reflexes just wanna ruin my whole day! Most of the time i dont even feel nauseus... I can just be walking through my house and my gag reflexes will just start going nuts! I am on Zofran, and i also have Phenergan for back up and they both seem to work... WHEN i am able to take them without wanting to gag them back up :( Has anyone else had this problem and does it eventually go away? Is there different little things i can do to help with it?

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

Thank you for your concern! And yes, it does suck. I just started taking Zofran about a week or so ago... it works for a little while, but closer to the afternoon i start to feel sick again. I feel like its taking over my life!! Im not actually throwing up (yet) and hope i dont start to, but i have had a few gag attacks in which i thought i was going to... I keep water near me at all times b/c my gag reflexes are HORRIBLE and im scared to get sick. First thing in the morning, i wake up feeling sick, so i eat and it seems to help and after i eat, i take my zofran to be able to get motivated enough to take a shower or do what i have to do just to get around the house. I do get plenty of fresh air. My room is a bit cluttered but i sleep with a fan on me b/c the noise it makes soothes me when i sleep. I have recently got this feeling of just pure tiredness! My muscles almost feel like jello and i get really tired and just UGH feeling... I have a 4 year old also which makes feeling sick so much worse! It makes me feel bad b/c she can say certain things or do certain things and my gag reflexes will just start and i have to get away from her. Its so hard and i feel so horrible for it! :( I heard that your 2nd pregnancy is in a lot of cases, a lot worse then your first. I know everyone has different experiences, but i have read a lot about women having more trouble with their second then their first. I definitely showed a lot faster, i can sometimes feel the baby flutter around already... I have horrible stomach pains in which i have just passed off as stretching of the stomach and stuff b/c i am not bleeding or spotting or anything and i dont feel like the baby is in distress...

I had severe morning sickness from 6 weeks to 16 weeks. It was 10 weeks of never ending getting sick unfortunately. I couldn't stop throwing up once it started so I would get dehydrated and weak, which is dangerous in pregnancy. At that point, you have to go to either Urgent Care or ER so they can give you IV to re-hydrate you. In the 10 weeks time that mine was very bad, I went to Urgent Care 3 times and the ER 1 time. It is nothing to play around with.

They ended up giving me a more expensive version of Zofran, still called Zofran, just a different one that melts and absorbs in your mouth instead of having to be ingested by your upset tummy. Stick to chicken broth, saltine crackers, real ginger ale, jello, and lots of water dear when you can. I have also found that I like Pedialyte. It is meant for kids but does good for us pregnant women getting sick all the time. You can buy it in many flavors as a drink or pick up the box of popsicles that they make. Around where I live, I can only find them at CVS in the baby aisle.

I sympathize with you so much because of how sick I was and nobody could make it better or explain why it was so bad. Try to make sure you eat enough before bed to make it to the morning but not too close to bedtime or else you are asking for heartburn. I've been told eating smaller meals and more frequently helps a lot too. Does your house get plenty of fresh air? Are you exercising enough? Sometimes when my sick feeling wouldn't go away, I would make myself get up and go for a walk around my neighborhood.

Make sure your bedroom is clutter-free so you get a good night sleep and of course, lots of fresh air! Write down what you eat and see if there are certain things that make it worse. For me, it was the sickness shifting to different times of the day. When it first started it was only in the morning. Then after a few weeks the morning was fine but I would be sick in the evening. Good luck, and patience, it will pass eventually.
