I'm trying to do my research for car seats and strollers. I'm due in October, but I'm getting the ball rolling NOW. Anyone use Baby Trend? What do you think is best and safest?

Be careful with some travel systems. The weight and height restrictions on them are smaller then if you buy a matching stroller and car seat seperately. I know most Graco car seats have adaptors to click onto strollers, ask the sales people they are really helpful!

Also, when you get to the bigger convertable carseats, check the weight on them and how long you can use the 5-point harness on them. Some of them don't meet the max. required weight, which means you would have to buy another booster seat when the time comes.

I use baby trend travel system with a car seat and stroller and I love how securely it straps my son. Unlike Graco that has one single over the head strap, Baby trend straps them in more like a big boy car seat.

Chicco Travelsystem! It has key fit fits up to 22lbs and key fit 30 (new!!) fits up to 30lbs rear facing. I think it is great and my mom did all the research to find out what was the safest and got it for me as a gift. Kinda expensive but well worth it i think

I used the Graco travel system with both of my kids and it worked great for us! It was easy to snap in and out and convenient to be able to just put on the stroller or shopping cart without waking!

I had used both graco and safety 1st travel system and I personally prefer the graco. The carseat snaps in and out of the base easily, adjusts quickly without having to move the baby at all, and it can even snap securely to shopping carts if you do it right. The Safety first has a really tricky clasp that you need both hands for and adjusts in the back so you can't tighten it with your child in it without tipping them over. It is also bulkier so if you are trying to fit 3 carseats in the same back seat, it wont work.

I'd recommend getting a travel system to use for the first several months - I liked my Graco system. It was easy to use and certainly affordable. I really liked being able to take my infant in and out of the car without waking him - so convenient, especially in the first months!

But once your baby gets too big for the infant carrier (20 lbs or so) the best thing is to move to a convertible seat with as high a weight limit as possible. Britax Marathons or Roundabouts are often pricey, but you can use them up to like 65lbs, so its the only seat you'll need. The Cosco Scenera is a good one, too. You can technically use them with infants (starting at 5lbs), but I think the infant bucket seat that snaps into a stroller is better.
