Ok so i just had my 3rd lil girl a month ago. And before she was born my dh and i had discussed me being fixed after birth but then he said he may want another cause we both really want a boy! But a week before i had her i made the decision to not do it. Well tomorrow im going to get the Implanon birth control put in but discussed vaugley with my dh about being fixed. I just dont think we need another now or in the future. With 3 girls oldest 5 middle 2 and a 1 month old i just really dont want another. I want a boy sooo bad but just dont think its gonna be the best for us. Also hubby works 3rd so its me all day and night taking care of the kids and just with 3 its taken a huge toll on me!

When discussed tonight he says whatever i believe is the best for us is what i need to do. But i really needed his input and didnt really get much of anything from him but him trying to say something just to make me happy. Im worried that if i decide to do this on my own then down the road he will hate me for it.

Input please... i need advice from someone.... anyone...

Please listen to my story and then make the right decision for you. I had my tubes tied 4 years ago after my 3rd child. A decision I regret. Two years ago I ended up pregnant. It was ectopic and we lost our baby. I love all three of my children and it breaks my heart that something I did caused us to lose a child. Stats tell women that tubal ligation is 99% effective. I listened to those stats and believed this could never happen to me but it did. It has changed me. I mourned the child we lost for over a year and I still tear up when I think of her. The other options aren't great but I would not recomment this procedure. You can never understand how much it hurts to lose a child until you experience it for yourself.

Mary,
I had my tubes knotted, not cut when i was 22 yrs old after having my second son 15 months after my first son. I conceievd both my children on birth control and consider them both a blessing. I thought i knew i wanted more in the future, but knew for certain, i didnt want another child then. My oldest will be 8 this month and i now count my blessings that i made the decision i did. My procedure is reversable and my husband and i are tossing the idea of another baby around. The stress and financial aspect of children is not to be taken lightly. Be sure to really research your options. My husband was against it at the time, but now we are both very pleased we did what we did. Best of luck to you and your family.

i agree with julie if you guys have any doubt then you should wait. i too had considered getting "fixed" when i had my twins back in may but i still want one more baby and my hubby is unsure so i decided to wait..

given you have 3 girls already its a big probability that you'd have another.. have you guys ever discussed adoption for getting a boy?? then you would be sure to get a son and there are a lot of kids out there that need good homes..

If you have any doubt wait. Just use whatever form of birth control you want until then.
