i had the implant in my arm and it was nothing but problems tbh i had it in 4 a year an a half bout 9 months into that i started bleeding would cum off 4 1 day and start again this happened for 4 months! i finally had it out in may of this year and havent seen a period since. but my bfs neice has it an it hasnt caused her no problems. dont want 2 put u off it jst warning u as no 1 warned me which was not v gud.

myself am on the pill,to me its effective however l dont think l would want to change to something,l hear some people having an injection causes problems(like u bleed some say it will take long to get pregnant wen ready for another baby), l think it all depends with the person,how u respond to the contraception.

i had a tubal after the birth of my daughter a year ago, but after i had my first child, i had the mirena iud inserted.i had been bleeding/spotting for 36 weeks after i delivered him. when they inserted the iud i stopped bleeding that day and did not bleed again until i had it removed. it was great for two and a half years, but i started looking very pregnant, and when i went to the gyn he said it had caused a lot of fluid to build up in my uterus. i had it taken out, my stomach went down, and then i got pregnant about 5 months later with no complications. very healthy baby. i do have to say though, one of my close friends just had a baby three weeks ago. she had the mirena iud when she got pregnant. it hadnt moved or fallen out or anything. it was still very much in place at her first ob appt. they took it out when she was about 6 weeks pregnant, and she was very high risk for miscarriage. luckily, everything was ok.

I'm sticking with condoms. I don't like the idea of taking a pill every day when I only have sex like every 72 hours. Doesn't make sense to me at all. What is the rod? Never heard of that before...

i use the mirena iuc , i love it . works great. talk to your doc about it. it last 5 yrs and you dont have to think about it like the pill

I used the patch before I ever had children...once I did have them I chose not to use birth control because I had so many complications from them. Obviously that may not give you the comfort you would like to have. But I personally believe that every child is a gift from God and He can choose for you to have a baby even while on birth control. I have chosen Planned Parenting which involves you tracking your body daily and knowing when you ovulate, etc. It's a lot of work at first but once you get intune with you body you will know when you are and aren't ovulating. It has worked for me so far after a year of having my second child.

I had mirena for 6 months and I loved it because I didnt know it was there and didnt have to worry about birth control. it was awesome, but I've been having medical problems so I had it taken out just to be safe...I would so have it put back in!!!

i use the mirana iud... i love it! i had it placed a year ago in aug. i love it because you just have to check for a string once a month, and it lasts 5 yrs. i havn't had a period since having it placed and i don't cramp. talk to your doctor. if you don't have a regular family doctor, call your local health dept. and make an appointment to talk to a nurse. i did mine that way, and i got it for free!

I used the Mirena IUD and I loved it alot. It did hurt a bit getting put in but it lasts for 5 yrs and my period stopped after 3 months which I loved. And the good thing also is that if you wanting more children it doesnt cause fertility problems once taken out. I was on the ortho evra patch right after my daughter for 3 yrs, got off that because was planning to get pregnant, took me 2 1/2 yrs plus fertility pills to get pregnant with my son because of the patch. So thats why I used the IUD, used it for a yr, got it out cause I wanted 1 more baby, and 5 months later..boom Im pregnant with my 3rd..

i use the ring i went on it afta my daughter was born and she is goin on 2 years old and it works.. my sister in law is on it and she been on it for ova 7 years now and she only has one child who is 7 u put it in u and it stay there for 3 weeks and u take it out for 1 week which u have ur period n then u put in another one you cant feel it and niether can ur boyfriend/husband and i find it really good to use so if u want something where u dont have to take at a time every day this is for u having a child is enough work neva mind trying to remember to take a pill everyday lol

I like the Iud alot! you dont have to do anything but check for a string, but no hormones unless you want em. I love it!

I have the mirena IUD I love it as so far it has proven the safest and most effective contraception for me. First daughter concieved on pill. I have little to no periods at all, in fact they have gotten fewer and fewer and I dont have the cramping and really bad pain that I used to get with my periods. A friend of mine uses it too and she loves it and no he cant feel it. :)

I was previously on the pill and after I had my daughter wanted to use a different contraceptive as well. I have done a fair amount of research and talked to my Doctor and ended up having the implanon implanted in my arm. It is a slow release hormone rod that is working in 48 hours it is also more effective than the pill and things like antibiotics don't interfere with its effectiveness either!

I went back to using the pill but its only because i have endometriosis and would be out of commision for a week and a bit without them. I would just constantly through up. I have heard that the injection in your bum is good and also the little metal rode in your arm. it lasts for like 3-4 years i think and you can get it taken out if you decide to have another baby. My doctor said its painless. Sorry im not really much help, just passing on information ive heard. :)

I have, or had the Mirena. I say HAD because it fell out. According to my Dr, this is not totally uncommon. I also know several women who had to have it surgically removed because the Dr could not find the strings.

I used the mirena IUD and I thought it was great. The only side effect I had was I didn't get a period for 5 years....which I wasn't complaining about...lol. I have it out now cause my bf has a vasectomy and we don't really need for me to use bc too.

I used then nuva ring after i had my children. i have been on every kind of birth control out there. i can't take the pill, had the mirena, and now i get the shot. i dont like any of them but the ring was so much easier for me and more affective. i am only on the shot so i dont have a period. but i suggest you talk to you dr and find out what is best for you. you cant take some if you are breast feeding or your body cant handle all the hormones that are in some of them. good luck hope you find one that works for you!

if you want something hormone free check out the copper IUD the last 10 years and once it's in place you won't have to do anything but check the string once a month. I went this route because the hormone based birth controls messed up breastfeeding with my first child and hey birth control is taken care of for 10 years or until I want to get pregnant again.

i went back on the pill after my second child although it was a different name.

i found the pill it really effective for me i know when my cycle is going to start.

i did use the implant sfter my first child and got pregnant 2 1/2 years after getting it put in so i never went back to that option.

I am on the mini pill, because it doesn't dry up your milk like the regular pill does. Several friends of mine quite like the implanon rod cos it lasts for 3 years and you dont get your period

I use the Merina IUD and I got it placed 5 weeks after birth, my daughter is now 8mo and I still love it. I have min. periods sometimes none at all. It does hurt a little when placed and lasts 5 years. Talk to your Dr. to see whats best for you. :o)

I did not go back on contraception after having my dtr 6 mnonths ago but working in the medical field any contraception is effective as long as you use as directed. My belief is the pill is the most effctive.

I use the implanon implant its a rod about 4cms goes into your arms and lasts 3 years ive had mine 11 months now the only side effect ive had is minimised periods sometimes none at all.

i dont think i will ever go back on the pill, mucks around with your body too much (well that's what i believe)...! We just use condoms, not the nicest but saves taking a pill each day!! LOL

Here's a link. The only downfall is that it's kind of expensive. But it's great for me because I've never been able to take the pill, or any other monthly contraceptive.
