Saline is good. We use the "Little Noses" to clean her nose out.

Saline, saline, saline!!! Hit up those nostrils to keep everything moist and running..nothing worse than a baby that cant breathe through her nose!! Make sure you suction her nose after. Also, sitting her in a steamy shower room may be helpful as well. Tylenol really doesnt do anything for a cold except for mask a fever, which is def a symptom you want to know about in the event of an infection developing. Hope this was helpful and your DD feels better soon!!

I would let it run its course. My now 7 month old was sick 2 times previously. We took her to the doctor both times, and they basically did nothing. I would give baby Tylenol drops if your baby seems to be in pain. I would call your baby's doc. to ask them what amt. of the drops you can give your baby. If your baby loses her appetite, feed her Pedialyte so she doesn't get dehydrated. That is what our doctor told us to do and what we did. She got better in a few days.

The American Association of Pediatricians DO NOT recommend treating any children under 2 for the common cold. Try running a humidifier in whatever room your baby is in.

Whatever you do I would stay away from over-the-counter cough meds, they are supposedly dangerous. My son is 5 months old and has had a cold, cough, and congestion for over a week, I brought him to the doctor because he was wheezing. He said his lungs were fine but his ear was infected and to keep him on Tylenol. I would make an appointment and give only Tylenol.

I don't know if you use any all natural stuff..but there are herbs for kids and they are liquid drops and they have like cherry bark (which is for coughing) and a lot of other ones for colds and stuff. They work pretty good on my kids when they have little colds and stuff.

She is almost too young for any med's... in fact, there are lots of new studies coming out about the negative effects cough med's are having on children.... don't be too quick to offer them. I would go to the Health food store and ask them, they are usually very helpful and everything is of course natural so it won't have any negative effects on her little system.... hope this helps

Whatever is going around this year is hard to get rid of. Not much medicine is helping. I would take her to her pediatrician because shes so young
