Could it be pregnancy?

Thanks to everyone. My friend went to the doctors and got a negative on the blood preg test. They said it could be stress or the loestrin pill she is on. Thanks again. She seemed to be relieved when I talked to her :)

I would tell her to go to her doctor to get a medical pregnancy test done. I am actually pregnant with my second son and with both of them I've always had negative pregnancy tests from the store. It is possible she is still pregnant even with birth control pills. Good Luck to her!

I was antibiotics this time last year and i was also on birth control. And the sntibiotics cancelled out my birth control. Even tho I took 3 tests at home they all came back negative.Then I went to the docs and it turned out i was.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I talked to my friend and she is still concerned. Still nothing. She is going to take another test in the morning. She said she doesnt have any other symptoms that she knows of. Her stomach has been messed up and has some aches in her back, but that's it. I know I should be able to help since I have been preggo before, but I didnt encounter this with my son. The test was positive before I ever missed my period- I just woke up one morning and knew I was preggo. Thanks for the advice!

i thought when you were on the pill and antibiotics, the antibiotics, kind of cancel out the pill?? she might be pregnant and it's too early for the tests to pick up. she should probably wait a little longer and retake a test. maybe go to a dr to find out for sure.

well taking antibiotics whike on birth control can alter the pills. it lowers the affect they can can have to work. what kind of pills is she taking? my gyno told me that what ever pills you take you will get fewer and lighter periods. i take loesterin 24 fe and i';ve been taking them since i had my daughter last year. since then i really havent had one at all. but i would tell her to go to a gyno and ask them to do an ultrasound to see if she is.

there is a possiblity, i took 5 two were from the doctor, and they were all negative, then after another month i wwent back and found out i was.

I had 5 negatives before i got a positive test with number 2. But I just knew for sure i was so i kept testing! be careful!!!

A negative pregnancy test doesn't mean you are 100% not pregnant, there are reasons for false negatives. Also my sister in law got pregnant on the pill while taking antibiotics, she later found out that certain antibiotics make the pill less effective. I would definitely go see the doctor, better safe then sorry!

LOL I have never heard of buying a pregnancy test at a dollar store!! That's great. haha.

I think she is pregnant. If you're on the pill, you are supposed to always have your period on those specific certain days. To not have a period shows the pills are not working that month!! However, conception likely occurred only a week or two ago, so a pregnancy test would show a negative result. She'll need to wait another month to know for sure. And if she feels uncertain about taking birth control 'just in case,' the likelihood of becomming pregnant increases. ;o)

Definately she should go to the dr. to find out what is going on. She could be prego or she could not be. I took several test that said I wasn't but I felt like I was and eventually one said I was. Does she have other signs my breasts were so sore.

if shes unsure i would make an appt to see the doctor to get an answer. No good worrying and wondering. im sure its totally occupying her mind right now above all else. The doctor could also answer any questuons about how the pill would affect baby if that ever did happen. if her doctor is unaailable, id go to the local health unit or womans centre..

Before I get preg with my son I was taking the pill also. When I get preg I didn't know and kept taking the pill for about a month. I stopped taking it as soon as I found out and it didn't hurt my son at all. I would think if 3 test were negative that she is not, but I would go to my doc to find out what was going on.

She could still be pregnant...my friend has 2 kids and every pregnancy test she took said she wasn't pregnant. Although, many things can cause a delay in her period (stress, sickness, etc.), she is not even a week overdue if she is just about to start her next months pills. I am on the pill and get my period on Wednesday and start my pill the next Sunday. If she is that concerned tell her to make an appointment asap with the geno and have them do a blood test and get checked out. Yes, taking birth control can hurt the baby, but if she does not take the pill and goes to the doctor just tell her to use protection for the next month.
