My son had a simplicity 3 in 1 nursery in a box. it came with a changing table\, crib and dresser. I was able to return only the crib without a receipt or box and walmart gave me a full refund onto a walmart giftcard though. it was $222 they gave me and I bought it on clearance for a fraction of that price. we ordered a new crib on the walmart website and bought some other baby stuff with the rest of the money (food, toy, new diaper bag) walmart was really great about it. idk if it's because my boyfriend is a ZMS there or what because I dont think the people that helped me return it knew me or our son. it's fine with us that we got our money back on a gift card because it would have been spent at walmart with my boyfriends discount anyway haha

Amanda S. you can get a refund from the store you bought it from(without a receipt) I just got one from Wal-Mart, Simplicity went out of business so the stores are required to refund your money or give you a store credit. Even if you no longer use the crib it wouldn't hurt to get your money back on it, use it for something else you might need.

Thanks for posting this, as many parent's are not aware of this one. I used a Simplicity crib for my daughter(2yrs) and was planning to use the same one for my son due in August. I just returned mine a few days ago and got a full refund( strange that Wal-Mart didn't even know about this recall, I had to argue with them for a while but finally got the problem cleared up and received my refund.

He is out of his crib anyways. So I don't have to worry. He hated standing with his face to wall so it didn't matter. He would only hang on the one that faced the door.

My son has a simplicity and I called walmart today and even without a receipt (I bought it over a year ago) they are going to give me a gift card for over $200 which is way more than I paid for it.I have a nursery in a box set with a changing table, crib and dresser and I only have to return the crib. We took it apart tonight and will prob return it tomorrow or the next day. I'm just thankful we only use it once in awhile. He normally sleeps in is pack and play in our room since his room is all the way downstairs.

Amanda please be careful turning your crib around. On the Cpsc website there was a pic of a crib like yours that was turned against the wall because the dropside was broken and it killed a baby that got trapped between it and the wall! http://www.cpsc.gov/onsafety/category/sa...

The both have been recalled twice due to two different problems. The major problem is you can't get a refund from a store cause that is not their job. You have to call the company which you can't get through too or email them and they never email you back. His mattress didn't fall down but the plastic slider broke, but I just turned that part to the wall. I couldn't afford a new crib and wasn't going to wait around for them to get back to me! Some company. Make a recall then never solve the problem. I just put my son in his big boy bed.

sheri- if you have a simplicity you take it back to the store for a full refund or in store credit (they are no longer in business). if you have a graco you call the head office and they will send you a replacement part

Jennifer- I live on a military base overseas and we dont have "local" news. But, I did go back to the store yesterday (they said they were waiting to hear from their headquarters) so i said call the branch manager. Well they wouldn't do that so I went up to the manager's office and took care of it myself. I no longer have the crib and was give a 100% refund that I then put towards a big boy bed for my son (he is 20 months and was going to transition anyways). All I can say is you don't come between a bear and her cub...the store got between me and my baby and I took care of it!

what do you do if you have that type of crib? My son loves to jump in his bed and I would be sooooo mad if I didn't do something to prevent an injury or worse death.... Please tell, I need to know all needed to know....

Rachael: That's around the same age my daughter went into a regular twin bed (she hated the toddler beds lol) and she hasn't had any issues with it I say if you child takes to it go for it.
I'm having another baby on the 18th and I am glad I went against a drop side crib. I had one with my first and all it did was get stuck and never came down anyway. They need to stop making them.

Simplicity no longer exists so I think that's one of the issues. And I agree with Jennifer. Contact the manager/store owner or corporate.

Autumn I would contact the manager or owner of the store and if they still won't at least put up a notice, I'd be putting in a tip to the local news. As far as your crib, can you contact the manufacturer to return it?

WOW its crazy how I just happened to lookon this page today and look I see a recall. Thank goodness I looked into it cause my daughters crib is on the recall list. The funny thing is a few months ago they had a crib recall and I called in and they said it wasnt on the list. But in the CPSC it says that some have been recalled for awhile but because Simplicity went outta buisness then they never knew how many were sold. Now I am not sure if I should just put my baby in a toddler bed or get another crib. My daughter is 19 months so what do yall think?
I guess ill be going tomorrow to take the crib. I do appreciate you putting this on the site. I am so like omy gosh right now. My brain is scrambling.

I know, Jessica. I think something about the part that holds up the mattress on one of them can break causing the mattress to collapse. The other one is a drop side crib where the parts break and baby can get stuck between the crib and the mattress. They don't recommend drop side cribs anymore for this reason so I don't know why they keep making them.

I saw that! Something about the part that the mattress sits on!? Is that right? I don't have one of the recalled cribs. I have noticed a ton of recalled cribs these days. Maybe we should just let them sleep on the floor... or a kinder mat on the floor. j/k of course, but sometimes you wonder!
