Does anyone take their children to daycare? My boy is almost 3 months old and I've been staying home with him, but we are having a really hard time financially. I was wondering how much anyone is paying for daycare. Or if there is a job that anyone knows of that can be done at home.

When we moved I had to find childcare in our new town. I found a lady who does it out of her house on more of a sliding scale. She would charge 110 a week for full time, but charges us 3 dollars per hour.
He only goes ther once a week. On the other days, he is with grandma. Otherwise, I would have to quit my job.
The "centers" I found charge about 12 dollars an hour!
I went back to work when he was a month old.

You can look into government assitance programs for the childcare. or work opposite shifts. The only way we can afford daycare is because there is a program through the military that helps pay for it.

It's almost not worth me going back to work at those rates, because most of my paycheck would go towards daycare it seems. Thanks for your help! I love being at home and I'll stay at home for as long as possible!

I have worked in childcare for 10years now and I can tell you that you will most likely not find a center that provides part time infant care. However, most family childcare providers are willing to accept them. You should contact your local childcare resource agency or the childcare administration(handles all the licensed homes and centers) to get recommendations for the best places to take your son. I charge (in MD) $190/week for a full time infant, $140/week for 3 days. Usually the rates don't drop until the child turns two or is potty trained (depending on the caregiver). hi there! i look after children in my home and charge less then daycare but i can tell you that daycares in my area are charging about $45/day for infant care.

I have been looking into daycare for my son (he will be 3 months on the 7th). I am finding it hard to find daycare that will take infants less than full time. Here in CO it seems to run almost 900 a week at the ones I have looked at....I am currently working full time and my husband and i split days(he works 4 and I work 4 and his mom takes the baby on the overlap day)....i feel like we have joint custody some days but its saving us money on daycare.....I plan on looking again when my son is closer to a year...I think the rates drop drastically. good luck!
