Did any of you moms get induced & how did you feel about it?

i have 3 and i was induced with my first two... the first was because of my blood pressure at 36 weeks... the second was because she was like 2 weeks late... i had an epidural with them too because the contractions were horrible... and i just felt like crap afterwards... i didnt want to do anything but sleep... now with my last one, which was a boy, i went into labor naturally 3 days before my due date... by the time i realized i was in labor (i had alot of false labor that felt the same) when i got to the hospital i was already 8 and fully effaced. i hated the fact at the time of not being able to get an epidural because not having one pushing him out felt worse than induced contractions even thought about being... but my recovery time after having him was none... i walked to the m and b sweet. i also didnt have to have stitches with him either, when i had to with my girls... so both had their ups and downs but when thinking back on it, natural was so much less complicated and painful... oh and btw i have serious back pain from the epis with my first two...

My due date was feb, 21 2010. Two days after my due date I was induced. they did this because I was diagnosed with gestational diabeties and they were worried that my baby would get too big. I entered the hospital at 7:30 tuesday morning and didn't have Troy until 9:16 the next day. The actual inducing of Troy was one of the worst parts and I got some pain meds immediately afterwards. i did not get my epidural until i was 7 cm dialated. Soon afterwards it was time to push. The epidural was heaven because i was feeling well enough to make jokes at 10 cms. I only pushed for 30 min until my first baby was born. Before I got prego i weighed 112lbs, at the end of my pregnancy i weighed 145lbs. now I weigh 120 lbs. Troy was 7lbs and 13 ozs. I did not tear either, Thank god!

i went to the doctor on a monday left the doctor and went to the hosptial ten mins. after i left the doctor. they was scared i was going into stress and all that good stuff. but i was happy because by baby came out happy and health which she wasnt born till that thursday so i sepnt the week in the hosp.

I was induced and i was 1 day late i went in a was 75% and dialated to a 3 .. My ob didnt want me to go to far over my due date cuz we already knew i was havin a big baby.. They gave me pitocin about 730. I dont have another baby to compare to but i kno it hurt so bad. then they got every 3 mins and i got demoral and went to sleep. I woke up when i felt the contractions and was a 5 and got my epidural, that was about 12 and my son was born at 3:26 and when it was time to push my epidural was wearing off, as soon as he came out i could feel everything..

I was induced a day after my due date(baby shower) and I got sent home only 2 centimeters dilated and no contractions. A week later I was induced again at 5 pm and my daughter was born 8 am the next morning. When it was all done and said I was 10 days overdue and miserable. It was fall in Iowa. They were afraid that my daughter would only continue to grow. She was 9 pounds and almost 11 ounces and 21 and a half inches long. I wasnt happy about being induced I felt the baby should come out on her own time. I had terrible labor pains and was refusing my epidural until 5 hours before she was born and 6 centimeters dilated. And yes I felt amazing. I pushed for half an hour before she came out (her head was 13) but I still felt myself tear.

I was due November 12, and was having pain so they broke my water about 1 on November 9! I did have an epideral which wore off by the time he was born at 5:29. (and they had to cut me) IT WAS THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD!! I screamed cussed and pretty much lost it!! I would NEVER reccomend anyone to get their labor induced!!!

I was induced at 35 weeks and 3 days and it was the worse experience. I was severely preeclamptic so they wanted to deliver my son. Alls they had done was given me cervadill and it put me into full on labor. My contractions started within 30 minutes of them putting the cervadil in and they were 2 minutes apart. Then within an hour they were 15 seconds apart. Needless to say, I ended up having an emergency c-section. Not fun to experience by can't complain too much. I gave birth to a healthy little 5lb 8 oz baby boy :)

With my first I was induced at 37 weeks; I am type I diabetic and he wasn't a very well- planned pregnancy... my sugars were wacky all the time. He kept measuring 3 inches bigger than where I should have been. I went into labor and got sent home on Monday; got sent home and couldn't eat or drink, went to the dr on wednesday, started pitocin wednesday night, dr broke my water at 11 thursday morning, got an epidural at 130 thursday afternoon. Friday at 140 am I felt the urge to push. I pushed until he was born at 510am. He was too big for my pelvis and got stuck for 10 minutes- there were two very large nurses trying to pudh him out on my stomach while I tried to push him out. He came out gray and limp. He was in the NICU for 2 1/2 days; other than a bout of RSV and then pnemonia (6weeks and 5 months) he has been a healthy active boy. I had a fourth degree tear and needed 47 stitches; I had very little pain esp. considering the whole time I was pushing the epidural had worn off!



My second I went into labor at 32 weeks and was dialated to 4 by the time I arrived at the hospital. I stayed 4 days in the hospital and 3 weeks later I was back in with contractions. This time I was dialated to 7 with a buldging bag; needless to say I wasnt allowed to leave and was on modified hospital bed rest. 3 days after being admitted I had an amnio done and contracted all night long. Since his lungs were developed the dr broke my water the following evening and started pitocin. I got an epidural 6 minutes before he was born- it didnt have a chance to work before #2 arrived... I needed 3 stitches because he came out so fast!



Both my boys were induced and for different reasons. Although I was unsure of being induced, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! (It won't though because I had essure placed in my tubes and will be sterile in late June)

My labor was induced due to the fact that my blood pressure was high...i was due close to valentines day instead I had my son a week early. I went in on a wednesday, at 3:30pm, they gave me some kind of medicine that was inserted in my yoohoo...lol...they did this twice. It was so it could thin out my....something...I forgot..it was a few years ago. Anyways, after that they gave me Pitocin on Thursday morning, which kind of helped, but when they burst my bag I was in a great deal of pain. I was close to 5 centimeters dialated and I asked for an epidural, it actually didn't kick in until after I delivered my son the very next day. I wasn't very pleased about it since I wanted to experience the natural water breaking and what not. I do regret the epidural since now I am in pain when the weather changes. I was I guess in labor for an actual day since my son was born that Thursday at 3:45pm...I wasn't even fully dialated when he came...I was 8cm...can you imagine. I guess it was for the best though.

I honestly believe i was induced with my first and only son because it worked well in my doctors schedule. she told me that my blood pressure was high, which i can't argue with medically, but i think i know my own body! that was a friday afternoon and she was on call that weekend and out of town the next week. this was five days before my due date. Mind you that i was 25 yrs old and in excellent health, never had high blood pressure in my life or at any other point in my pregnancy. the details honestly escape me because i had the epidural, which i think caused some memory loss. it was my first baby so i didn't know what to expect or feel i had the room to stand up for my beliefs and wishes. i felt she gave me no options, only what the doctor wanted to do. every moment felt completely unnatural and will do everything in my power to make sure i never am not induced with any future babies.

i was in mild labour with contractions coming 5mins apart then it would stop then start up again at 5mins for about a week i was 10 days overdue i would go to the hospital and tell them about it and say something was wrong and basically they would laugh at me and say you'll no when its time but i new my baby was stuck and his spine was on mine so i new it was going to be painful they induced me 10days later i was so tired and had no energy by that time that the pain was soooo full on straight away i had trouble sticking to my birth plan by the time i got to 15hrs i asked for drugs and then the horrid thing fell out so i had to get inducted again they broke my waters and left me for another 15hrs. from about 6hrs from when i got the first induction i was having contractions on top of contractions, and i kept saying something was wrong and they didn't listen so in the end they broke waters and all that meanwhile i was in so much pain i couldn't stand still and was pacing like a wild animal my poor partner was so tired he had past out so i was all alone and still no midwife after 30hrs of constant pain i asked for an epidural and that was wonderful by then bubs was showing that he had enough and they said quick emergency c-section i was shipped off straight away and about an 1hr later he was born blue and floppy and his head was the same size of his bodyin the shape of a football and yep i was right he was stuck and would never hav come natually goes to show you no more about yourself then anyone else, just wish i demanded it from the start so in the end i was in hard labour for about 2 days i thought i was dying then what made it worse was i wasn't allowed to see my baby till 2days later. im pregnant again and am thinking ill go straight for a c-section, im a bit scared to have natual lol

i got induced because i was past my due dates (they gave me 2) i had contractions for 4 days before they were forced to do an emergecy c section :( after the nurse broke my water (and accidently hooked my cervix! ugh) i didn't mind being induced thouhg...as long as i got my baby in the end. it was all worth it!

I was induced with both of mine and I loved it. I was only in lador for 8 and 7.5 hours with my first and second. I did get the epidural and loved that too. I was up and walking around within an hour of giving birth to both.

I got induced...I was a week late. My baby girl didn't want to come out. But the doctor said I was already starting to dialate and said that I might go in labor over the weekend but didn't. It was nice because I got the doctor I wanted, she was great. But ya the contractions were painfull, I had back labor. The funny part was my doctor thought she wouldn't weigh any more then 6 pounds...hahaha she was almost 8.

I was induced with my daughter, and I went about 5 hours before getting an epidural. up till that point I'd just had an IV with some kind of pain med, which made me sleep between contractions but wake up crying during them and then fall right back to sleep. Finally I asked for the epidural. I finally got a couple hours of sleep and by the time I woke up it was just about time to push. An hour later my daughter was born. I had no problems with being induced. I'd actually like to be induced again with my baby due in Sept.

my due date was march 1st. i was scheduled to be induced on the 3rd of march at 8 am because my due date came and went.>< i lucked out and the weekly appt landed on my due date so i was told i would be seen in the hospitol unless i didnt go into labor by the time i was to see the doctor in the office.

march third rolled around and 12 am i started feeling alot of pain but it wasnt much. by 1 am i was still sitting at the table talking to my bf's mother. and i had kept gettign up standing then sitting to relieve pain. it wasnt tll 3am when i started crying from the pain that i woke my boyfriend up and asked to take me to the hospitol when it had dawned on the three of us when that i was in labor.
so i was rushed to the hospital and they had to break my water there after 2 hours because they could not get a heart beat on the baby because she had rolled over so i was getting back labor pains. so they attached a monitor to the top of her head. oh boy did i scream ...if anything if you have never had your water broke by the doctor pray to god you don't ever have to have the doctor break it. that is a very PAINFUL experience after they broke my water i finally went from 1.5 cm to 4. by then i caved in and wanted the epidural.
mind you i had not slept on top of the nubane and the anti nausea meds i was sleepy on top of being tired and it was just awful.

after the epidural was incerted it was maybe another 2 hours and they gave me the pitocin to get my contractions stronger. this may be a bit tmi here but they decided to drain my bladder because you cant feel your legs and during pregnany some times you stop having to pee. and sometimes you can go all over the plkace so they decided just to drain me.

about 15 min after that i felt an odd sensation in my lower regions. i asked the nurse if she removed the catherder. they did so she checked me and in 15 min i went from 4 cm to 9.5. she told me to resist any urge to push and she would call for the doctor...15 min later and the doctor gets there and im trying to resist pushing and the doc checks me and her head is already almost out of me. she wasnt waiting for the OB at all.!!!

3 contractions and 3 pushes each she was out in 6 min or less. gave birth to a beautiful 7 lb 8 oz baby 20 and a quarter long.
this is my first child and i was in labor for 15 hours Kairi (ky ree) was born at 6:46 pm
i didnt needs stiches and i didnt tear and she didnt have to cut me.
i was told that i had to have the easiest first labor they have seen in a very long time. and it was great i avoided having to be induced too...heard that was hell and id never want to do that i was crying and trying to make it through 80% contractions by 90% i got the epidural..no way in hell would i have wanted to feel a contraction full force.

i was induced because he was 1.5 weeks late. i didnt want to be but had to. my midwife told me it would hurt more, and as far as i can tell, it did, but i have nothing to compareit to. after 6.5 hours, i got the epidural. i almosty immediately felt like i could push, and did feel lots of pressure. i went from 3 cm to 9 cm. in about an hour. thet ramp up the pitocin pretty quickly!!

With my first, my water broke 3 weeks early and I had to be induced with pitocin because my daughter was running out of fluids. It was a horrible 2 days of extremely painful back labor, back to back contractions, finally an epidural and 45 minutes of pushing to get her out. I hated it and would never do it voluntarily. Second baby, completely natural, 5 hours of easy labor (by comparison), no drugs, 3 pushes and done. I can't believe they induced you 3 days before your due date. I can see that if the baby was unusually large or something but that's silly otherwise. Here, they wait until you are 1 week overdue.

With my first (and only) I was 12 days overdue and had begged to be induced for the entire month before. (Had been stripped twice that week and still only at 2 cm.) I was very petite and wanted to make sure I'd be able to push him out when the time came. I went in Thursday night at 11pm, started ripening at 11:30...that didn't work so they moved on to pitocin. Held out on an epidural for 24 hours (4 hours of terribly painful contractions and could no longer breathe through them.) Was stuck at 6-7 cm for 12 hours. Water was broken for me Friday night but wasn't fully dialated until 9am the next morning (after 36 hours of labor). Pushed for 3 hours (so hard I moved the bed) but he got stuck. Finally gave in and had a c-section (non-emergency as he had dealt with the drugs and contractions wonderfully). It wasn't a terrible experience, but I would do things differently. Would not wait so long next time, possibly start with breaking water first and would obstain from drugs. Perhaps I'll try accupressure...just glad my son was healthy.

ive had them both but since with my first i never had contractions with her at all and she was born in 10 min lol the first time i experianced a contraction was with my son i was induced a day after his due date because i didnt want him born on the 13th which is my brothers birthday but if it hadnt been so close to that i probably would have waited a bit longer. i dont think being induced is harder or makes labor longer or anything but since my first was so weird and unusual for a first time and any other times i cant really say that all i know what with her i had no meds and witth my son threw the whole 15.5 hours and tearing he did to me coming out face up i still didnt get any pain meds and with this baby i plan on not having any meds either unless i have to have a c section im hoping i dont need to get induced with this one he/she isnt due around anything specail so im hoping to find out what a real contraction labor starts. but for me both of them were very easy pain wise

I was induced, I was 13 days overdue. I have nothing to compare it to as it was my first baby, but I do remember the searing muscular pain I felt in my thighs with each contraction. I had the drip, and hated when it got turned up, but I knew it was working. They ended up assisting the delivery using a ventouse as he had turned his head on an angle, and prepared me to be cut, but they decided not to slice and dice me after all, but I'm glad they prepped it, as I did have a tear and I didn't feel it (mercifully!)

My labors are weird. My labors start and stop randomly for about a month before they have to induce me to either keep my labor from stopping or start it back up again. They do this once I've hit 5 cmm. If I didn't have to have them do that then I could probably handle labor with no pain meds. My oldest labor was 7 1/2 hours and they had to start inducing me around 7 cm to keep my labor from stopping and I had an epidural with her. With our second daughter our labor was 5 hours long and they had to induce me when I was 6 cm to keep it from stopping and I had nuebane with her..don't recommend that...with our third daughter my labor completely stopped at 5cm. They tried to get me to walk myself around the delivery area to get my labor to naturally start up but when that didn't work they had to induce me again and my labor with her was 1 1/2 hours. My doctor recommends that if we have another that we just get induced or my Husband might be delivering the baby. :)But yes inducing is extremely painful! If its going to happen I recommend pain meds!

I was induced on a Friday at 8:00 in the morning, I stayed in labor for 23 hours and I was very tired. I had an epidural and an epidural ball that was refilled at least 3 times, I went through 2 bags of the pitocins. So I pushed for over and hour until finally my little one was born 7 lbs 8 oz. Would do it again and I found out that I will I'm due in November

I was induced. I was at 41 weeks, 3 days, and she was starting to move less so I freaked. I really regret it now. I caved and asked for the epidural. I regret that too.

My induction ended in a c-section. I have struggled with breastfeeding since day one, and I blame that completely on the hospital and the c-section.

With my first I went in to labor at 33weeks and i was in labor for 4 days...alllll back labor. It was HORRIBLE! they kept stopping it so for 4 damn days i was yelling at them telling them to stop getting it to stop and just let my baby be born. By 36 weeks i was in so much pain i couldn't even walk without help so i asked to be induced. They wouldn't induce before 39 weeks even though i had the lung injections to make sure he would be ok so i waited until 39w4d and was induced by my OBGYN. I really wanted her to deliver since i had her since i was 17 and she did my surgery so i could even have kids. With my second I was induced at 39w because my husband is military and gone a lot around my due date. He was gone for 3 weeks when i was 36weeks pregnant so he came back 2 days before my induction date. As far as the pain, i did feel it was worse with the induction from what i experienced with my first at 33 weeks...kind of sucks to be in labor twice but only getting one kid lol. My first was born 8.5hours of labor start to finish and my second was 2 hours.
I don't regret my decision to get induced. It was what worked best for us. If we have any more we aren't sure if i'll get induced but it might make since to so we have arrangements for our 2 other kids.

my doctor induced my 2 weeks early.. i was induced because i had preclampsia.. i was swollen couldn't walk sleep or breath.. i was 283 lbs when i had my son!! i was very happy beacuse as soon as i had my son i felt so much better!!

i was induced by choice at 8 days late. i had been in the hospital for dehydration at 32 weeks and they thought i was in labor then; i wasn't, but i was so tiny (barely 140 pounds, up from 134 after dropping to 119 in first trimester) and every movement from my daughter showed up as a contraction. i then exploded to 161 pounds in just two months and gained about 2 inches a week. i was beyond miserable. my doctor said she wouldn't induce unless i hit 43 weeks or medically needed to be induced or asked. My non-stress tests were all normal, but my amnio ultra sound showed a 7 out of 20 (they induce immediately at a 4). This was on monday, 6 days late. i went into hospital at 9pm wednesday, got the cervical ripening tab at 10, by 8am i was still at 1/2cm, i got the tampon like one at 9am and at 9pm i still hadn't gotten any farther. i had been having constant shooting back labor this entire time because my daughter was head first, facing up. i gave up and got a partial epidural at 10pm (no narcotics due to allergy) and they started the petocin ten minutes later. i wish they would have told me i would be confined to laying in bed until my daughter was born, cuz i never would have gotten the epidural. at 4am i was at 4cm and at 8am i was at 9cm. i started pushing at 8:30am and my daughter was born at 12:20pm. the epidural made me sick, so i spent most of the night throwing up stomach acid. i made the most progress pushing while i was throwing up though. my water never broke either, so the doctor and nurses were expecting all the fluid to rush out after my daughter, but nothing. i had completely absorbed all the amniotic fluid at 10 days overdue, this told my doctor that the placenta was failing and that my daughter probably lost up to half a pound, born at 6lb 13oz, when she was estimated to be born at 7lb 15oz a week earlier. i ended up tearing to between 2nd and 3rd degree. it took almost an hour to get stitched back up.

i don't plan on having any other child, i never actually planned on any children. Between having morning sickness from 4am-1pm everyday for the first 8 months and the horrible labor/delivery i'm good with having an only child.

i was induced a couple days after my daughters due date but only because i had preclampsi, and my blood pressure was extremely high... they induced me THREE times in a period of 26 hours, and my body didn't respond well at all.... i only made it to 2 cm, and it made the contractions so painful... and the end result was an emergency C-section..... i didn't want to get induced, becasue of all the negative things i heard about if before... but if its a health reason i would consider it again

I was induced 2weeks early because I had my kidney removed about a year before I got pregnant, the doctors didnt want to put too much pressure on the remaining kidney, my specialist also said that the same will happen for any future pregnancies I have! I didnt mind being induced at all really as it was safer then letting it happen on its own! I went in on the tuesday morning and was given the pessary at lunch time, the midwife was able to brake my waters at about 6:30 that evening, they then gave me afew hours to see if i would start contracting but it wasnt really happening so they gave me the hormone drip to speed the labour up at about 10:30pm, my contractions progressed quickly and I gave birth to my little boy at 3:27am weighing 7lb 7oz. the midwife told me thats its more painful if they have to use the hormone drip, but i got my wish as i had no pain relif exept gas and air!

i was induced a week and a half after my daughters due date. I didnt really mind it too much because I didnt have to wry about going into labor in random places or nothin. I thought it was kinda boring tho cause it took a while before my body finally kicked in and started contracting

I was induced a week before my due date because she was laying on my pelvic bone and I could barely walk I was in so much pain and I was having contractions for 3 weeks. My labor was not that bad and I felt nothing after my epidural. I was already dilated some and almost completely effaced when I went in to have her. After I had pitocin for a little bit they turned it off because I was contracting good on my own. I was in labor from start to finish for like 6 hrs. I pushed for 20 mins and she came out!

that is hilarious!! i was induced about a week before my due date and my dr explained it to me that its best to be induced before ur due date if u havent had any braxton hicks contractions or any hint that u might be goin into labor soon because the longer u carry ur baby past ur due date the higher the risk is that ur baby will be born a stillborn. baby andre is my first and only i went into the hospital put on a monitor and everything and pretty much jus chilled for about 2 hrs before the dr came in to induce my labor it was real quick and painless i had received the epidural prior to this and felt absolutely nothing! drugs can be a beautiful thing lol baby andre took only 20 mins to come out once contractions started real good i only pushed 3 times and as soon as he came out the nurse put him in his lil bed and he turned over on his own!! babies can also be beautiful creatures

I got induced both times and was very happy about it! 1st time I was having twins and my liver couldn't take any more so the drs decided to induce at 37 and 1/2 weeks which was a relief! The second time round I was expecting a big baby (estimated at 11lbs if I held on til the end!) and at the public hospital they refused to induce so I went to a private clinic where they induced at 38 and 1/2 weeks.

I got induced with my 2nd daughter and I would do it again it's alot better than being woke up in a whole lot of pain like i did with my 1st one I was able to get pain meds before my contractions got to intense n my blood work was already done so i didnt have to wait an hour or so for them to get the results back

i have only had one baby and i was induced 8 days early as i developed preclampsia and my blood pressure was high. 15 hours of labour and the drip up as high as it could go for most of it i had an emergancy c section. i had a birth plan and had pictured my labour being beatuiful and natural. i wanted to be able to move around and go in th bath and not be stuck on a bed which i was i hated my labour and my c section and still do 5 months later. i have a beautiful little girl and i love her to bits just wish she had come into the world in a better way not being seperated from me at birth for hours while i was in shock in recovery and she was in special care unit. im going to fight for a natural birth next time i will do what ever i can to be able to go full term and do it MY WAY

I was induced with my second child.its was very painful.I gave birth and then they had to bring me back.It was a moment i wish never to have again.I was a week and a day over due.Liz was trying to get out earlier but she couldnt break the barrier. But she is almost 9 years old now and I would not change a thing.I in total have for kids.My last are my twins but they came early on their own:)

i was induced with my son as i had pre-eclampsia. I was 2 days overdue and was thankful that an end was in sight. After they ruptured my waters i did break down and cry my eyes out as i felt guilty that i was making him come before he was ready. But it was the best thing for the both of us. I was given cervadil the day before (sun) to soften my cervix as i hadnt even started to dialate. Then on mon I was ruptured at 9.30 in the morning given the oxytocin at 12.30pm and had him at 5.45 that afternoon so i didnt think that it was to bad at all. I did not have any pain medication i really wanted a natural as possible birth. I have been told that an induction is worse but it was my first so i had nothing to compare it to. Im 12 weeks off having bubby 2 so ill see wat happens.

I was induced exactly 9 mos after doc (crazy yes)lol the doctor felt that I wouldnt make it to my due date n that i wouldnt go into "active labor" on my own. I was good for the first part when they did the cervadil implant to ripen my cervix at 5pm it was kinda weird but about 9pm I went into active labnor n wasnt too sore just tense dr told me that she would give me something to help me sleep since theyd be starting my pitocin early the next am n I'd need my strength to push when it came due. n Im soo grateful I was able to shut my mind off n rest up. 1245am i was off to dreamland. then at 7 am they started my pitocin n broke my water around 9:45am. it took forever to reach 4cm when I finally did I got the epidural n maybe 2hrs later I was fully dilated n ready to push. I started pushin about 1:30 n she was here at 2pm on the money :) 17hours of labor was well worth it to have my beautiful baby

Hi I was induced and I didn't like it. I started having my labour pains a day before the due date, I arrived at 1 in the morning, so when they saw that the baby wasn't coming they decided to induce me and I hated it. I was in so much pain and was like a crazy person for 5 hours, was induced twice

I was induced due to health issues 2 weeks before my daughter was due and i didn't want drugs but the dr wanted an epidural hooked up in case my blood pressure went up i wasn't going to use it but the midvives urged me too due to being induced is more painful so i used it i was in labour mostly painless all night then got the urge to push right at 10cm dialated my bub was born an hour later came out so quickly she was actually in shock!

I was induced twice, the first time I was 2 weeks over my due date, so with the second one the doctor didn't want to take a chance. I can't realy say if it was more painfull than giving complete natural birth. For me both times were quick, only 10minutes since being pushed into the theatre.

i was induced bc i was 3 weeks over due...the first time didnt work and it was done a second time and i went into labor about 2 days later..i only have one so i cant tell ya if the pains were worse after being induced but i do know tht i sincerely believe i was about to pass out and die from the pain before i ever got to see my baby...shes so worth it though

I got induced because I was 3 weeks late!!! I didn't feel any contractions thank god I got and epidural imediatly and my daughter came an hour later with 3 pushes my doc said I was luck since I guess first time moms atg my age could take hours to have her.

Oh man oh man! With both of my boys they induced me! It was absolutly the worse feeling ever since with my first son the epidural wore off as the potosum kicked in.. Ooooh bad!!!!! I waited almost 3 weeks of being over due with my last one but he just didn't to come out so they enduced me again.. That was a little better cause I got the epidural done right!

i was induced with both my children the first was at 36 weeks cause of pre-eclampsia and high blood pressure, and the contractions were very quick after my waters broke bout a 2 min break in between for 4 hours. With my second i was induced at 37 weeks again cause of high blood pressure and was in labour for 57 mins very fast contractions. They were both very intense labours but i had no issues at all.

I was induced one day before my due date. The doctor decided to induce after I fell and the contractions started and didn't let up for two weeks.

I went in 10am and got a hormone drip. By 2pm, the doctor broke my water with this long crochet hook type of instrument. By dinner time I was offered an epidural, which I gladly took. I told my Dh that either he had to shut up or I needed drugs. He tells corny jokes when he is nervous and I needed complete silence. The drugs were a godsend. I got to relax for a bit. By 9pm I started pushing and had a beautiful baby by 915pm. I was nursing by 10pm, and walking around by midnight.

I don't know whether it is any worse. I mean I can only speculate. I didn't find it too bad.

By the time you get induced, the needle is the last thing on your mind. I was able to fall asleep for an hour and get my energy up before pushing. Also, I could feel my legs just fine just not the pain. It is totally a personal choice though. I wasn't going to but the pain I was in I had to. It is dependant on your own body.

i was induced twice as well. I went in on a tuesday and had her on a friday. I didnt like being induced just for the simple fact of cervidal. That stuff hurts getting shoved up in there. After that though all I can say is that i love nubane. I was higher than a kite while they gave me an epidural and then i really felt nothing. All I could feel was the pressure when she was ready to come out but i felt no pain. It was great. I pushed for 45 minutes and there was mack. ( she is my first and only, so i dont have any one else to compare it to either) My doctor wanted me induced because she was getting too big. She was an 8 lb 2 oz. 19.5 inch baby.

I was induced 2 1/2 weeks early. I had been dilated to 2 cm for about a month and having contractions, but not bad ones. I went into the hospital and they had me walk around for awhile and i went to 4 cm so they broke my water, started the epidural and then the potocin...she said i'd prolly have awhile before i was fully dialated. But not even 2 minutes later, i felt the pressure she had told me about so the doctor came back in to check and i was fully dialated. I delievered a 7lb8oz boy 30 minutes later. I didn't feel any pain at all until the epidural wore off. I tore badly i guess. But it wasnt to painful before or after.
