OMG your Dr should have deliverd the baby eary so it wouldnt have been so big. With all 3 of my girls I had c-sections but my dr still checked to see about how big they was, he said reguardles he wouldnt let them get over 9 lbs bc it was risk of the baby if they did.

I believe you! I didn't have gestational diabetes either, and I ate healthy too and still my son was 11 lbs 1 oz. and delivered on my due date. I am 7 weeks pregnant with No.2 and I'm hoping for a little bit smaller this time around, but I delivered Treyton natural and no pain killers, so I just have to keep telling myself, "I can do it!"

Ohh my goodness I thought my son was large but after reading all the posts above I guess he was not as big as he could have been. My son was 9 lbs 5 oz 22" long and 2 weeks early! I gotta say thats big enough for me! I also did not have gestational diabetes!

My son was a week overdue and was 9lbs 1oz. I was expecting 7lbs or something and when the doctor told me how much he weighed i thought he was kidding lol. No epidural or episiotomy... some slight tearing when his shoulder came through.
I have three kiddos. 2 boys and a girl. My first boy was born 10 days early and weighed 7lbs 4oz, vaginal delivery. My second was two days early and weighed 9lbs1oz, c section due to being breach, and my third was also two days early 8lbs 7oz, vaginal delivery...no tearing whatsoever with either vaginal delivery. I was 20 when I had my first, 21 when i had my second, and 23 years old with my third!

my son was 9 lbs 13 oz and 22 in long, he was about 5 days early. i had to have a c-section because he had a HUGE head! the doctor said if i was physically able to push him out, i would have shattered my pelvic bone because of how big he was and how small i am. the doctor estimated no more than 7 1/2 lbs about a week before i went into labor...she was shocked at how big he was! he is now 18 months old, about 33 lbs and 34 in tall.

1st baby(1 1/2 before due date) - 8 lbs 11 oz. I was 19 yrs. old.
2nd baby (due...well 3 days prior to due date) - 9 lbs 7 oz I was 21 yrs old.
3rd baby (8 days past due date) - 9 lbs 10 oz I was 23 yrs old.
4th baby (3 weeks before due date!) - 8 lbs 12 oz I was 28 yrs old.
I had no gestational diabetes. Just genetics. Big babies run in my family and my husbands.... Well, and my husband is 6 ft 6 in tall!

First was 7 lb 11 oz.induced labor 1 week early (or so) witha healthy pregnancy. Second was 8 lbs 3 oz induced labor a little more than 2 weeks early. I had gestational diabetes during the 2nd pregnancy, and her induction was planned to prevent an even bigger baby.

My first was big but just a little smaller then your baby. I was 23 when I had my oldest son. He was born 10 lbs 10 oz when he was born. He was two weeks early when I had him and I had gestational diabetes. If I would have had him on time he would probably have been about the same weight as your baby or more.

My son was born at 38 weeks and 4 days and weighed 9lbs, no gestational diabetes and I was induced as on the ultra-sound the drs estimated his weight as 9lbs 5oz and 11lbs if I went up to 40 weeks! But my twins girls were fairly big for twins too, born at 37 weeks they weighed 5lbs 4oz and 6lbs 3oz.

I am 5' 11" so it wasn't a surprise when my daughter weighed in at 10 lbs 13 oz. and 21 inches long. I had an ultrasound at 30 weeks and she was already over five pounds, the tech said I was off on my days, but I knew I was right on track. She was 5 days overdue, and I had to have a c-section- thankfully! She is almost two and is very tall. She is in the 90th percentile for height and 75th for weight. Taking after mommy!

my first was 7' 6 and 10 days early my second was 9 pound and 2 days late I was told with my first he was going to be well over 10 pound and very long !! and he would be late ! They were wrong.
With my second I went on my due date and without ever seeing a scan and just feeling the baby my midwife predicted he would be born early sat morning and be 9 pound and she was spot on. My second got stuck he had wide shoulders and he had the cord around his neck he was born in 11 minutes zoom like a speed racer ..no drugs but I felt much better after the birth with him than I did with my first as I was forced into an epi as my sons heart rate was to high and I had a temp I don't want any more babies but if I did I would go completely midwife led again no doctors they just want to do whats best for there time frame.

I had two big babies, my first one was 9lbs 4oz and my second was 10lbs 2oz and I never had gestational diabetes either. My two were over due as well and I think some people just have big babies. As long as their healthy and happy that's all that matters!

I had my first daughter 4 mnts ago, just shy of 26 myself. I was 42 weeks and she weighed 8lbs. 3oz. and ripped wide open - My prepegnancy weight was 95lbs 5'51/2''. It was a difficult recovery for a natural child birth, completely tramatizing too,

i had my son a month early and he was over 7lbs. i had ptl and if that hadnt happened my dr said he would have been 12lbs easy. i ended up having to have a section because he was so big even at a month early and his head was stuck in my pelvis. i wasnt gestationally diabetic either :)

Oh yeah! I love the big beautiful healthy babies! I was 10lb 9oz. My mothers first, so i knew i was going to have big babies and i deffinately tried. My daughter weighed 8lb 10 oz. We weren't over due though. Babies come when their time is right. Through my own research ive relized that bigger babies tend to be healthier through out thier whole life! You should be proud you gave him the nurishment he needed. Diabetes runs in my family a ton but my daughter and i both doged that bullet. Im very thankful.

my baby girl was 10 lbs 1 oz, and my epidural wore off, so I felt every little last bit of it!!! She wasn't late, she came two days after my due date, and till this day she is still a big baby, she is off the charts in both height and weight, but she is proportionate and healthy...she had a checkup today, and she is exactly seven months today, and she weighed 20 lbs, and was 27 3/4 inches long...but looking at her, you would never know she weighed that much, but you can definitely tell she is going to be tall!!!

I had my daughter at 41 weeks and 1 day. She was 9 lbs 9 oz when she was born! I tried to deliver her vaginally but she got stuck and her head kept hitting my pelvis. Sooo, eventually I ended up having a C-section. I was pretty much out of it during the surgery but I do distinctly remember the doctors saying in unison as they pulled her out, "Wow, that's a big baby!" LOL, I will always remember that :-)

i was 23 years when my little girl was born, she came right on her due date and weighed 8 lbs 12 oz. I didnt have any problems either but the doctor tested her for sugar levels when she was born. Now at 8 months she weighs 20 lbs, a chubby girl but she is beautiful none the less.

I had my son when I was 20. He was 3 weeks early and weighed in at 11lbs 6oz. They told me that had he gone full term that he would have been over 15lbs.
My daughter was born when I was 24, she was 8 weeks early and weighed in at 4lbs 14oz. They told me with her, they think she would have been about 12lbs had she gone full term.
