I did have a lot of back pain, but I dont think it was from the epidural. I think it was because I did not have any stomach muscles left and they were moving and reforming because you know they separate to allow your uterous through when you are pregnant. So, I worked on situps and strengthening my stomach muscles. I think my back was hurting from picking up more then I was used to picking up, and not having the stomach muscles back yet. After I got stronger, it stopped hurting. Good luck, I hope this helps a little.

I don't suffer back pain, but I never got the feeling back in my left pinky toe! (It's been 8 months) Honestly, I thought it was just awful and it wore off before the pushing anyway. I wouldn't use an epidural again.

my backs been killing me too lately... i think its from the epidural as well ... i was talking to my grandma and she said her back is still hurting from when she had her epidural wen having my mother :S although i guess it doesnt help the situation when it took them 8 tries to get the darn thing into my back . ouch .... i think the epidural ended up being more painful for me then the labor !

My back hasnt been the same since the epidural. My daughter is now 3yrs old and the only time my back gets really bad is when I sit down for too long. For some reason when Im more active it doesnt hurt so bad, but when I sit for long periods of time it hurts. Its a really annoying pain where the epidural was put in.

Sure do. I think mine isn't from the epidural though bc it is not in the spot where my shot was given. This is also the same back pain that I felt during the last 2 months of my pregnancy. I am pretty sure that it is a nerve though, it comes and goes (i think it is the sciatica nerve) .
Hope this helps!!!

Quoting Alison:
Did anyone have lots of back pain after pregnancy? Is it from the epidural? hi alison i never had a equidural but if your breast fair play to you the pain easys but when you lie in bed at night its like bus drove over you, but after 5 minutes of easy it will pass and when babys 4 weeks you'll never notice but when they go in to the cot at 4 months and you r in changing nappy or easing them to sleep it kills but you will surve. because you don't care about the pain. good luck you'll love it. alison s

Depending on the type of back pain it is probably just your back realigning itself. It spent 9 months getting pushed out of whack and now needs to readjust to not having a belly. I had back trouble for that reason. I had an epidural first time around and not the second time, and I had the same trouble for both.

OMG..Yes yes yes. I have pain right where the epidural was put in. Some times when I bend over I fell like an 80 year old women trying to stand back up. My son is 6 months, I am hoping it goes away. I also have a hole in my back where it was and if I press on it I get a shooting pain all up and down my body. It's terrible.

i had back labor and an epidural. Ive had very bad back pain its been about a month but it turns out i threw joints out during labor. The place where I had the epidural doesnt hurt at all and went away about 2 days after giving birth

I did with my second baby, was yours left in for a long period of time?? Also if you suffered back labour....oh joy, that could also be the culprit!! Hope you feel better!

I did for a while, it was staight painuntil maybe more than 9 months. It comes from time to time and other times i don't feel it for a while. But yes i do believe it is from the epidural because not only do i fell pain in my lower back but also in the area where i was given the shot.
