How soon after your baby was born did you have sex, and did you use protection?? If not are you afraid you'd get pregnant again? Im using the pull out method and Im very nervous that I could get pregnant again. Its only been a month since my son was born.

with my first we waited 2weeks and didnt use anything as neither of us like condoms u cant feel anything properly. and i was breastfeeding and didnt want to take hormones. we also used the pull out method but there were a few mishaps hence when my son was 6months old we foundout we were expecting our 2nd. now that we have had her we waited almost 3weeks as i bled a little longer but we used condoms the first 3times and now are back to the pull out method except for 2 times and im actually considering a pregnancy test as i have a feeling, my daughter is only 6weeks old. I have looked into the mirena and if im not already pregnant again i think this is the option we will be using although i still dont like the idea of having extra hormones whilst breastfeeding.

We used the "pull out method" and now we have a beautiful little girl!! I would use a condom if your worried about getting pregnant again! We waited 6 weeks before having intercourse again and we started using condoms.

You are suppose to wait 6 weeks after you have the baby to have sex, then your doctor will put you on birth control after the 6 week weight. You are NOT suppose to have sex for 6 weeks after you have a baby because your body needs time to heal. I would be very carefull with the pull out method because you can get pregnant 2 weeks after having a baby and the pull out method does not work. That is how I got pregnant with my daughter. Even if you are on birth control I recommend that you still use a condom or a female condom.

I read that using the pull out method you have 75% chance of getting pregnant. but there is a chance you will get pregnant on any bc so if i didnt want another baby right now i would try to use bc pills and a condom

Most doctors do not recommend any sex until six weeks postpartum (most of us choose not to wait that long). Pull out method does not work -- there may be some semen in the precum or he may not be able to pull out quickly enough - go on birth control or abstain until you go in for your postpartum exam

It was about 10 weeks after my son was born before we had sex. We're kind of intermittently using condoms. Partly because I'm breastfeeding and led to believe this makes it quite difficult to conceive straight away and partly because it wouldn't be a disaster if I got pregnant again (son is now 6 months) although that's not the plan!

Well 4 weeks after having a child, I dont think thats long enough for your body to heal. If you dont want to get pregnant try the pill. Even if you are nursing you can still be on a pill. Did you already have your postpartum checkup? Talk with you doc about types of birth control, IUD, shots, patch, ect. You are an adult, if you dont want to get pregnant then use some kind of birth control.

Personally I know the pull out method doesnt work, I have a beautiful daughter to prove that :) 8 weeks after having her I had my postpartum checkup and I went on the mini pill since I was breastfeeding. I've been on it for almost 2 years now.

good luck. talk to your husband too.

i waited 2 weeks after my daughter was born to have sex and yes i was sure to use condoms. Cause my ob told us that the 6 weeks after brith u more likey to get pregant again so i was not taking that chance again

LOL We did it exactly 4 weeks after our little darling was born and ya know we use pull out too and so far haven't had another baby after 4 years. Just depends, did you get preggo by accident the first time? If yes then maybe you should find another method. For us, we knew so it wasn't an accident so I'm VERY confident in my bf's skills. Of course nothing is 100%.

We were asked to not have intercourse until I went in for my six week check up. If we did we were to protect ourselves with a condom since it is more likely for you to conceive again. The hormone levels in your body are trying to get back to normal so we start to ovulate around that four week. Good luck with whatever the outcome maybe!

I am with Nataha (though I am still pregnant at this time but I would say if it's safe for you to have sex at this time. use condoms, not the pull out. namely for the fact that you said you Don't want to have another kid right now.

BTW, I want to add that if you are breastfeeding, that is not a fool-proof method of birth control. Even if you have not had a period, you can still get pregnant. If you do not want to get pregnant, use a method of birth control...pull out doesn't count.

We started having sex about a month after my son was born but we went right back to using condoms. It was too much of a risk not to. I actually got pregnant using the "pull out" method because we ran out of condoms.

I had a 4th degree tear after having my daughter so it took me a while to have intercourse again. I'm into 3 months after and it is still uncomfortable.. and yes we used protection (birth control) I was terrifyed to get pregnant again after just having her b/c you are most fertile after labor... if u dont want another baby right now i would say to use protection! If u dont care then keep doing what ur doing:)

Have you ever tried the Vaginal Contraceptive Film? I use that after giving birth. We hate condoms and it is a pretty reliable form of contraception. They sell it at Target, Wal-mart or on Amazon. Look it up if you are interested :)

Then a couple of weeks after that i went and got the contraceptive implant in my arm, and still have it till this day. My Boyfriend wants another kid.. but im just not ready yet... :) x Oh and just to add... i fell pregnant on the contraceptive injection.. x

I asked my doctor about this because they always make it sound like you are more likely to get pregnant right after you have a baby. He told me that the chances of getting pregnant right away are no different then someone that hasn't just had a baby. We waited 4 weeks and havent used protection. Just the pull out method. I guess it depends on how easy it was for you to get pregnant in the first place.

You can ovulate after you have your baby! If you are totally breast feeding (absolutely NO formula) the first 56 days are not fertile, but you need to do something if your not. The pull out method is not very good. Have you heard of precum? It carries semen and you are able to get pregnant. We waited 6 weeks.

My doctor told us that your body is already in the "baby making mode" so it would be super easy to get pregnant after having a baby. They also said that if you are breastfeeding that is NOT a form of birth control you can get pregnant then too. We only used protection for a second after he told us that. Yeah pull and pray doesnt work thats how we got the first child.

My husband is deployed, so it will be a minimum of 2 months' wait until he is home for R&R, and then our son will be about 10 months old when he comes home to stay. I don't plan on going on any form of birth control, since we would like to start trying for a second not too long after he gets back. If anything, we will probably just use condoms during R&R and again once he gets back until we're ready to start trying again.

right after my daughter was born, and i had my check-up i went directly on the birth control pill.. before we had sex.

i had a c-section with my twins, but as soon as i could we did. as for getting pregnant we arent worried about that because we want another one. but the pull out method doesnt work because thats how i got pregnant. guys have leakage that comes out before the seed and i know 3 people who've gotten pregnant that way

[deleted account]

B/c of my stitches I had to wait 6 weeks. Yes I used condoms not b/c I was worried about getting pregnant again but b/c your uterus just isn't physically ready to support another baby right away. I didn't want to risk having a pregnancy with complications. Also I wanted to spend time with my new son and not worry about another baby on the way!

I would use protection no matter what, you are the most fertile right after you have a baby, my sister in law used the pull out method right after her son was born and guess what her daughter came 10 months later. I could not imagine having another baby while my son was 10 months. good luck

Condoms dry me out a little too so we use lots and lots of lube. I don't ever want to be on birth control. There are the durex condoms that didn't dry me out but sometimes they would get lost in me because they are super slippery. Now we use a brand called 'one' and they work ok with me not as bad as trogans. No baby yet just a step daughter.

After my son was born i was suppose to wait 6weeks before haveing sex. (i had a csetion). That lasted for about 2 1/2 weeks before my hubby and i did. First time after me didnt use protection and i freaked out for a months after words waiting to get pregnant. I love my son but i didnt want to have one right after him. I ended up getting the IUD birth control. Its wonderful, and u dont have to use condoms. I would use the pull out method thats what got me my wonderful son in the first place.

i had sex as soon as i stopped heavily bleeding!! the first time we used protection but after that we just forgot to cuz while i was pregnant we didnt use anything! so it came a natural habit to forget to use a condom!
my son is 4 1/2 months now and we have sex regualry and only use condoms when we remember lol

I just mad love to my husband and used the pull out method but he was soo into it that the pull out was too late and now I'm scared. i's been 1 month and 3 weeks and I would be soooo mad if we were pregnant again right now. I started using the pill but yesterday was my first day and this happend on saturday. Now with my first daughter I used the pull out method for three months and was good but you have to be extremely carefully. I only pray that I get my menstrual in 3 weeks.

I had a c section and we started after 2 weeks, I'm still nursing (almost 7 months later) and no baby #2 yet, we also use Natural family planning which is MORE effective then BC (if used properly) and safer..hence it being natural. lol If we got pregnant it would be awesome but we wanted a nice spacing, like I said 7 months...it works!

Oh boy. I made sure that my birth control had kicked in before sex again! Our twin boys make us so tired that we really didn't think about it (at least I didn't) until about3 months. There was no way I was getting pregnant again! My cousin gave birth to her son the day before her twins' first birthday! I was not going to be in that boat! Your body needs time to heal. My ob actually gave me 6 months worth of free samples of the pill. I'll bet your doc would give you something if you asked!

We waited five weeks after our daughter was born. We dont use protection and never have. Pulling out worked for us, we got pregnant 3 months after we stopped pulling out, but if you really dont want another baby right now DEFINATELY use protection. IUDs are good they dont affect breast milk. They last five years, but can be removed at any time. Have it removed at least six months before you want to get pregnant again. They cost about 500 dollars, which seems like a lot of money but is actually less than 5 years worth of birth control pills

We waited for 8 -9 weeks. Yes we used protection as I was told that you are very fertile for the first few months after giving birth and one baby is enough for me at the moment. If you are worried about getting pregnant then you should definately use protection, as the pull out method is not a form of protection.
