Do you really like what you named your child?

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I wanted to name her Ryan, however, her dad was not really for it, considering it was a boys name, but we both agreed on the name Haylee, even though I didnt care for it, I only agreed cause her name became Haylee Ryan. Thank god I dont have a daddy for my son to tell me what he wants to name him, so I got all the fun to myself. Going with Logan Myles....and i love it, just wish i loved my daughters name as much as my sons, dont mis quote me, i love my children the same, just was never a fan of the name haylee.

I love my son's name as well, my husband and I agreed on it. I picked it all and he just agreed or disagreed with the names I picked until we both agreed on the final product. Our son's name is Izaiah Jordan Lee. Izaiah was picked about a year before I conceived him, I just decided I really loved it and would name my son that one day, Jordan fit with Izaiah and Lee is my husband's middle name.

I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant with my second little boy and we're going to be naming him Teegan (not exactly sure of the spelling yet). It's kind of bothersome that every time I tell a friend the name we picked I get "Thats cute, my friends daughter's name is Teegan" lol. I realize it's a unisex name, but personally for me it's always been a males name more than a females.

Not sure of middle names yet. But I love my first son's full name and I love my second son's first name.

I had absolutly no choice with my first sons name. He is named after his father and grandfather. ernie III. I can not stand the "where is bert" jokes! I can't stand his name so I just call him bud-bud! My 2nd son I got to name...braden william! I love his name! There father left when I was 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd, so he did not have any say in names for him! but now I am stuck with a son named after his father...who is not in the picture very much.

We named my son Jacob Palmer, and Palmer is to honor my grandfather. I love his name and couldn't imagine him being anything else, but I wish I'd have known Jacob was such a popular name, everywhere we go there's at least one other Jake. But he thinks it's funny to play with another Jake. I'm a Jenni myself and have always had friends named Jenni, so I guess it's forced me to be more original (I'm a momma with tattoos, a mohawk and I'm a graphic designer, so haha) since my name isn't.

Since we honored my grandfather with my son's name, my husband wanted to do the same for our daughter's name to honor his grandmother who passed away on his 8th birthday. How could I say no to that? I had wanted to name her Lily Ana, but we named her Lucy Jo... Lucy after his grandmother, and my grand mother is Mary Jo, so there you go. I love her name and it fits her well because she's a spunky little tomboy, but I still like Lily Ana, plus it would have kinda been for my step-dad who's last name is Lilly. But I guess I would have had another popularly named kid, so I'm glad we chose Lucy for the originality too. :)

I also like the names Miles Christopher (Miles because my hubby is a car enthusiast and Christopher is my step-dad's name) and Zachary Ryan, just cuz I like it, haha. But since I'm not really planning on any more kids I don't think I'll get to use them.

My daughter's name is Leah Mary. Leah was the only girl name that my husband and I could agree on, and the middle name of Mary is for my great-grandmother and my husband's grandmother. I absolutely LOVE my daughter's name and would never change it. The funniest part is that I have a neighbor that lives across the street with a daughter that is 8 days younger than mine whose name is Leah also! (We had no idea the other was pregnant so there was no way to know we were going to name our girls the same name. Not that I would have changed it, anyway!)

My daughter name is Corina and I love it. My name (Michelle) was so prevalent in my high school there was three of us in one class it was so confusing. The name also belongs to my husband deceassed mother (died when he was two or three) and I thought it would be a nice reminder of her. Alls I wanted when I named her was I wanted something not everyone was named Like my name.

Yeah when I was expecting my son I had the name Jaxon picked out but his dad wanted him named after him. Stupid me I still thought there was hope for our relationship so I gave in to his childish whining... thats all he did was whine. Sadly hes stuck with his name that reminds me every time I say it of his bum father.

My husband let me pick our daughter's name, but mostly just because I put up enough of a fuss about wanting to name her after family. I love what I picked for her name (and it turns out that my husband does too!)- JOSALYN FAY HOFFMASTER (but we call her Josie for short). JOSALYN for my stepdad, who always wanted kids but could never have any. He wanted a son named Joshua, and Josalyn is a pretty close feminine version of that name. And FAY is kind of a traditional family middle name- The first-born daughter on my maternal side is always given the middle name Fay. It's my middle name, my grandma's middle name, my great-grandma's middle name, and so on. The only generation it skipped in the last 150 years is my mother, whose middle name is Marie. (Incidentally, I don't like the name Marie all that much. LOL) I also gave her my maiden name, HOFFMASTER, as a second middle name because I promised my grandpa 3 things before he died: 1. To always be proud of being a Hoffmaster, 2. That I would keep my maiden name as part of my name when I got married (Which I did), and 3. That I would give at least one of my kids the Hoffmaster name. So far I have made good on all three promises, and I am very proud of that fact.

When I had my daughter we had a hard time naming her, my husband was in the Air Force and going through tech school. I never got to see him much so picking a name together was tough. We ended up with Kenna Alexis I originally liked Brooke or Jaylen. But once she was born I realized the name suited her perfectly.

I named my daughter Riley Elizabeth and I love it!

(Elizabeth after my gran who passed away before I fell pregnant)

Its unusual where we live so there wont be any other Rileys in her class!

Had always liked the name since I was younger and the fact that not many people liked it made me more determined to name her that.lol

But the name totally fits her.

My partner and I just couldn't agree on any names at all. So we struck a deal ! If its a girl, I get to name her. If its a boy he gets to name him.... I was packing it let me tell you. He had his heart set on the name Caleb and I hate it !!! Luckily I got my girl. I really wanted to call her Olivia but I knew my partner hated it, but I also loved the name Ava and we both liked Ellysa, so after a few weeks we decided on Ava Ellysa Jordan ! I googled it and she is one of a kind !

I like boys names on girls..... But for any future children, I will remind him that if Olivia is out than so is Caleb..... But I really only want girl babies... so fingers crossed !

I think you both should have considered eachothers feeling first and found a compromise, then everyone would have been happy. My son ended up with the name Mason Olivier which I absolutley love and Im now thankful I didn't call him what I was thinking about at the beginning of the pregnancy nor what my partner wanted. We sat looked through internet sites asked people about what names they liked etc.. & we decided on one which we both loved. Therefore there is no regret! :)

My husband picked our daughter's name and at first I wasn't sure, but it's grown on me and I absolutely love it! Her name is Avalon Bel =) I picked the middle name for her great grandmother. But I was really hesitant at first...Avalon? What kind of person will she grow up to be? I don't know any Avalons...and will she be made fun of at school? I just had a lot of concerns that weren't really that big of a deal. But she looks like an Avalon =) And we don't call her Ava for short, since it's the wrong sound, from the long a to a short a and there are waaaaaay too many Avas and to go by her middle name Bel...everyone would think her first name is Isabella because of soooo many little girls being named that. I know like 5 under the age of 2! And when/if we have a boy, we're going with Tristan Anson. =)

Well i just fell in love with that name so our first daughter is Ella. For our second daughter he wanted the name Rose but again i wasn't a fan so i ask him about Emma ans he didn't like that. A few days later i came up with the name Emma-Rose and he fell in love with that name. So we have 2 beautiful girls Ella & Emma-Rose

I love my daughter's name! I named her Lorelei Elizabeth. (Lorelei is pronounced like this: Lor-a-lye). I literally picked the prettiest name I could think of. I got Lorelei off of an old Marilyn Monroe movie (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), and Elizabeth is the name I have always wished my parents would have given me. I also think that they sound good together. I didn't worry about naming her after any relative or anything like that. Her name was very important to me, so I just focused on finding the prettiest name I could think of. I would never let my husband choose the name. After all, I was the one who carried her for 9 months and gave birth to her! LOL. I did let him have some say though. I would never name her anything that he didn't like. I would have felt too bad about doing that. I briefly considered the name Jessilyn, but decided against it because he didn't like it. He was okay with Lorelei though, so I went with that!

I didn't want the Alan in there and I had a list of names I loved more than Aidan, but my boyfriend and his family stepped in and made the decision. I know I could have put whatever I wanted in the hospital but I had no other names I was set on...Plus we had already been calling him Aidan for so long. On the down side though...Everyone in my town has a baby that their name rhymes with Aidan...Jaydyn, Raedyn, Hayden...It sucks. But I think I'll just call him Dean. lol Nice to know I'm not the only one who felt like this.

She is Hailey Dawn 4 and no one else in our area has the same name, its not common and will always be Hailey, my hubby picked her name and we chose Dawn as she would always be kicking me first thing in the morning. My second daughter is Chloe Jessica 2, again my hubby chose the names as i was convinced this 1 was a boy and again no one else has the same name. My 3rd daughter is Sophie Olivia, i chose Sophie while hubby chose Olivia and even when i was in labour he wanted to change it to Olivia!!! Fair to sy he could not argue with me in labour.

I love all of my girls names, we chose them as u cant really shorten them to anything when they are so young but when they get in2 school the nicknames will come from them but they will always be Hailey, Chloe and Sophie to me and their daddy. They are what we call 'proper names' and will suit them in pre-school, high school, college/university, in there jobs and also sitting in their nursing homes when they are old ladies. I love them all too bits and wouldnt change them for the world!!!!

I think a child's name is one of the most important things you gives them, I've always hated my name and never wanted my child to feel the same way. I've even asked Caleb if he likes his name and he said yes, which made me feel better. And as far as Jakai goes, I absolutely love his name but I like to purchase things like cups, keychains, cards etc.. with names on it and abviously Jakai isn't a common name and I can't find it anywhere, but Caleb has so much with his name it's ridiculous. But over all I am very happy with what I named my boys!

The names of our daughters I like. Katrina- although, we did consider changing our choice since she was born in 2006 after hurricane Katrina. But we had chosen that name for a girl after much debate while we were pregnant with our son.... so we stuck with it and call her Trina Bean.

Third child Eliana... I adore her name. Means "God has answered my prayers" and at the time, I took it as a faith statement... once she was born, there was some time when I looked at her and the name just didn't seem to fit during those first weeks. But now, I can't imagine any other name for her.

I even have a theme to my kids' names. They all have an " i " as the fourth letter in thier name. Rylie James, Levi Nathaniel, Braiden Harrison, and Jerimiah Christian.
