my son doesn't like to be held, but likes to know your there, but then again i've always been like that, didn't want to talk or do something with someone, but had comfort knowing they were just there!

My son is like this, espcially with women, i suppose they can't get comfy beong held where as they can on there own, but each baby is different.

When my baby was a newborn and up until she was 7 months old, she did not like to be held. When someone would hold her she would scwerm so much and the minuet they put her down she was the happiest baby again. It was strange but thats what she wanted

Both my kids were diff. My oldest would cry at 2 months old if u held him to long but he grew out of that by 4 months and my youngest was the same way at 2 months but he is now 16 months and still dont like to be heald or cuddled very much. He hasnt fallen asleep in my arms since he was 3 months:(

here's some more info:my baby is 2 1/2 months. for the first month of her life she liked to be held but after that, not so much. she gets so fussy! i don't know if it's too soon to tell if it's just a phase, she's just independent, or she's colicky. i don't know...i just miss my cuddle bug!

when my son was very new he liked to be left alone or be laid beside but not so much held - he would fuss if held for very long until the age of four or five months. he's almost 8 months now and he loves to cuddle - still not for very long but he constantly wants me to be besde him playing and every minute or two he will reach over to give hugs or kisses

How old is your child? As soon as my son could crawl...he HATED to be held. It has been that way for 4 months and counting now. I do miss the cuddle time with my newborn! But Im glad he is active and curious.

keep in mind, every child is 11 month old baby is not a hold me baby...she is very independant and wants to do it her way on her own. She's been like that pretty much since birth.

my oldest was a hold me smoother me baby. mommy mommy mommy...

so yes it's normal, just like with grownups, everyone's different...each one has their own personalities.
