I have slacked on pumping and now I am barely producing any milk at all. I can only get about 1 oz every time I pump now. I have tried just pumping like every two hours and everything and just can't seem to pump any more than an ounce. Does anyone know what to do? Is it even possible to build it back up?

You don't mention how old your baby is. Are you pumping exclusively? Fenugreek is a good suggestion, but if you have a peanut allergy you can't take it. If you are pumping exclusively you may not be able to rebuild your supply. What happens in a pumping situation is your body just stops producing enough milk. It is unfortunate but very common. Your body isn't going through your baby's growth spurts using the pump and you just can't keep up. That is one of the reasons why pumping is so difficult and why it is hard to continue pumping once you hit 6 or 9 months.

Hydrate! Drink a lot of water. Also I always found that building back up is A LOT more difficult than decreasing. It may take a lot of pumping & nursing for days & days to get it back up. I know there is medication that can help also but it's costly.

Yes! There is a tea called Mother's milk...its not the best tasting but it works! My midwife suggested it and I found it to be helpful! I got it online I just googled it and it came up..and it's not that expensive. Oh and it says drink 3 glasses a day you can't drink enough of it! I didn't like the taste so I would mix grape juice with it and it was tolerable! Good Luck!

try eating some really fatty meals and when you feed push down from under your arm that is where the supply starts once you start having let downs itshould get better try not to pump many women cant have let downs because it is a plastic thing sucking if it is your child it feels better relax and stay calm

Yes is it possible, you just have to stop pumping and nurse nurse nurse! let the baby nurse for as long and as often as they will. Breast milk is made on a supply and demand. but pumping does not always demand the same as a nursing baby will. So for a bout a week nurse more then every two hours let the baby nurse frequently and in a bout a week you should have more milk coming in. nurse around the clock, meaning at night time too. Thats about all I can think of.

Try Fenugreek. It is a herb that helped with my supply...
