I'M 26 & HAVE 2 BOYS & GOT MY TUBES TIED AFTER THE 2ND ONE. IT WAS 1 1/2 AGO. I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH KEEPING WEIGHT OFF UNTIL NOW. MY NORMAL WAS 125 OR SO AND LATELY (IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS) I'VE GOTTEN UP TO 135 LBS. A FRIEND SUGGESTED THAT IT'S BECAUSE I GOT A TUBAL. I GOOGLED IT AND I GOT SOME ANSWERS YES & SOME NO. I ALMOST CRIED WHEN I 1ST READ SOME WOMEN GAINED 60 LBS AFTER THEIR TUBAL! ( I KNOW, A LITTLE DRAMATIC) I'M WONDERING THAT IF PEOPLE ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THEIR WEIGHT AFTER A TUBAL B/C THEY'RE GETTING OLDER AND THEY'VE HAD A FEW KIDS, NOT B/C OF THE TUBAL AT ALL. FROM WHAT I HEAR THE OLDER YOU GET THE HARDER IT IS TO KEEP WEIGHT OFF, AND THE MORE KIDS YOU HAVE THE HARDER IT IS AS WELL. MY DR'S DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT WEIGHT PROBLEMS WHEN WE DISCUSSED ALL THE PROS & CONS . I'M TRYING TO DO PILATES & USE MY TREADMILL DAILY AND IT SEEMS TO BE HELPING I THINK. I'M NOT THE HEALTHIEST EATER IN THE WORLD EITHER. LOL

I eat super healthy and exercise approximately two hours daily ( cardio and strength) and can't lose a lb keep gaining I was 150 prior to my tubal a year ago now I can barely keep below 180 I'm so frustrated. I am 32 years old and have horrible period problems now like they last for 14 days or longer and I have 21 day cycles now anyone who tells you that post tubal syndrome is a lie is lying. I suppose it's my fault after all I'm guessing I wanted to gain all this weight. I am in the healthcare field and in gyn tubals can cause premature ovarian failure which causes a host of problems including weight gain. Do some research before you have anything like this done.

I dont think its from the tubal. You arent changing anything other then an egg not getting to your uterus. Chemically I believe your body is the same. Now I knwo my mom was a twig until she had a hysteictomy, where they removed all her female parts and she gained a huge amount of weight and cant seem to get it off. Although my mom tries those pills ans such and never exercises. So I think a lot of it has to do with people acutally working out and eatting right.

The reason why women gain weight as they get older is because of a drop in estrogen tubals often cause hormone levels to drop or disrupt them which triggers menopause menopause is the direct result of hormone levels dropping. I am 33 years old and 13 mo post tubal I have labeled to be officially in menopause twenty years early. Don't get a tubal

This is not true hormone changes from the tubal can and do cause weight gain for up to 75% of women if it did not happen to you then you are lucky.

I had a tubal after my second child (he is almost 4 years old) and I haven't noticed a problem with weight (I am now 28). I would try to eat healthier and work out and if you are still gaining weight, I would talk with my doctor. Good luck!!!

I agree with Jamie. They did not do anything physically to you that could cause you to gain weight or make it harder to lose it. I had a c section with my third child & had a tubal done at the same time. I actually lost weight quicker that time then after my first two children.
