My daughter had very dry skin all over her body from the day she was born up until she was about 2 1/2 weeks. I tried all kinds of differnet lotions on her, bathing her every 2nd day...didn't work. Then I bought Baby Aveeno lotion and that stuff worked WONDERS! She hasn't had a single patch of dry skin since I started using it on her :)

My daughter had dry skin also, the doctors gave me "oilatum Junior" its an emollinet that you add to her bath water and its meant to treat eczema and dry skin while rehydrating the skin. You could speak to your doctor about getting this for her.
Have you ever heard of infant massage? I started this and its great for my babys skin as well as a lot of other things like colic and constipation etc. You use organic sunflower oil for this but if you havn't done it before then you could just rub some onto her skin.
Good luck.

My little girl has the same thing and the doctor said it was eczema. He prescribed hydrocortizone cream. Once that ran out, I got her some Gentle Naturals baby eczema cream (it has little Disney charactes on the front of it). I massage it into her skin after her baths. It seems to have helped. I also make sure her bathwater is luke warm.

Only bathe her everyother day. While still in the shower put baby oil on her legs the steam helps it absorbe. In the morning if its really bad use hydrocortisone cream or just use a regular cream. Try to stay away from lotions as they dont moisitine as long.

i use Aveeno lotion its made from Oatmeal & the moisture lasts all day! My daughter has eczema & we use Aveeno oatmeal bath packets. You can find it at any store, Walmart has the best price. Its powdered oatmeal and you put one packet of it into warm water & the oatmeal naturally cleans & moisturizes the skin. It worked better than the prescription creams from the Dr.

My daughter has that really bad to and the best thing to do is stay away from soaps and lotions with perfume in them. My dr. told me to use white dove and it has really wored wonders. Also try and find lotions that don't have alcohol in them.

most stores sell an over the counter excema cream that helps retain moisture. i used it for my daughter when she was younger and had dry skin on her neck. you can also just mix some vaseline with aveeno dry skin lotion and it works well too and it wont be too harsh on her skin. if that doesnt work she may need a prescription cream from her pediatrician or dermatologist...good luck!
