Essure - Permanent Birth Control

My husband and I are undecided about having another baby, but I know the time will come when we have to decided on a permanent birth control. I have got information from the essure site and from my long time dr. but I don't know anyone who has had the procedure done. The site has all good stories but they are trying to sell a product, and my dr. says it's a good form of permanent birth control But I would like to hear from women who have essure, I want to know about your experence. How is it working for you? Do you recommend it to other women?

Permanent birth control kinda scares me too, but I know eventually we will have to find a way to protect ourselfs from getting pregnant, I have been on the pill (which i'm horrible at taking thats how we got our 2nd daughter :) and I have a IUD in now (it's good for 5 years) but I don't like it too much due to not very good experiences with it ;) .. My husband is worried about me getting my tubes tied and the essure and how it will effect my cycle for the rest of my life.... And he talks about getting a vesctomy but who knows if he'll really do it?... Then our religion teaches "natural family planning" that's how we had our 3rd daughter, but we'll end up with 20 kids I know it! Which would be great but we cant really afford that many...LOL.. So I know we will have to decided to do something eventually :) ... So I figured this was a good option compared to getting your tubes tied.

While I don't have essure either, I have looked into it too. I was just curious what it was and what some moms have said about it. From what I have heard and read, most women are really happy with it. When they say that it's practically pain-free and can do it in the office you have to realize that it's still them shoving a long stick up through your uterus to your fallopian tubes and implanting a little spring-looking thingy. The test they perform to see if the implants are 100% effective involves injecting dye into your uterus (via your vagina) and doing x-rays to see if the dye passes the implants or is contained within your uterus. I have heard this REALLY REALLY hurts.

I've never had Essure done but from what I've read it's a pretty good alternative to having your tubes tied. Good luck!

I don't know anything about permanent birth control, apart from abstinence. :)

But just a random comment, Permanent birth control really scares me.



If and when you decide make sure you research how it effects your system, because it may not only effect your mensuration but other parts of your body as well.



And permanent is permanent, why not just go on the pill or the 3 year implant, at least they will wear off.
