Well done on concieving! ;) I had an ectopic in 2008 my left tube (they left my tube in place as apparently it was still intact) then i decided not to continue tryin. fell pregnant in 2011 whilst on coil ;( yes ectopic again in the same left tube! It was removed that time and i am now ttc after stopping pill since September and I am still waiting on a positive! (Im due on this wekend) so we will see. My point is youve did it well done - i hope all is well with your pregnancy and birth x like someone else said usually its the getting pregnant after an ectopic thats usually difficult!!!!!

I went through the same thing 7 years ago (ectopic pregnancy). Last year, I miscarried...but today I am 2 mths pregnant. It is so possible to become pregnant after having an ectopic pregnancy.

Tamika I hope that everything has gone well for you. I am now going through a similar situation. I had my first ectopic at 9 weeks I lost my right fallopian tube on 8/1/11. I found out shortly after that I was pregnant again but it was in my left fallopian tube. I had the metho shot. Now I am 5 weeks pregnant and I am so scard that things are going to follow the same pattern. I need to know there is hope after two ectopics....



And Jodi your information is completely wrong. The likelihood of getting pregnant does not reduce when you lose a tube. Your left tube can pull eggs from either ovary the same way the right can. And to top that your likelihood of having an ectopic the first time is 2% the second 15% and the third is 50% so after an ectopic the likelihood of successful pregnancy does decrease... I hope to see more women who have suffered through a tragic loss like this to come together in the hopes that we can give others hope.... Please let me know how everything turned out for you

congratulations on your pregnancy! I've never had an ectopic myself but have a friend who has had 3 healthy children from the one remaining tube she has after her ectopic. good luck :)

I was reading your story and thats what i am going through it right now had an ectopic pregnancy at 8weeks & also had my right tube removed. I was wondering how long after your surgery did you get pregnant? Congrats on your baby :)

I had 2 PAINFUL (OMG) Ectopic pregnancies! one after the other, but i wasn't giving up. my 1st son dad stressed me so much and thats the reason i had my 2ectopic pregnancies I had my 1st son Oct 2004 then one E.P in april 2005 N Had my 2nd E.P the oct 2005 i left the guy i was with n now i have 2 more boys and pregnant with the 4 child, my last 3 r from the same person, n im loving it. Never felt so blessed n unstressed. So that means i've i had two more boys on one falopian tube. When there is a will there is a way, god will make it all better for u in your (mate)husband.

Thanks for responding Melissa. I can't believe you had 2 ectopic pregnancies and still ended up having a baby. She really is your little blessing and I am glad to hear that everything worked out for the best for you. I still am pretty nervous about the outcome of this pregnancy but I am still holding on to hope and faith that this pregnancy will be successful!!

I pretty much had the same thing happen to me, it was super scary, I was in surgery for 5 hours because the baby was attached to the lining of my uteres, and I was slowly bleeding to death, and I lost my right tube! Than a lil after that I ended up having a etopic pregnancy in my one and only tube! Than after that one I found out I was gonna have another one, ithey did xtra sonograms and blood work, after I hit 7 weeks I felt a lot better and knew everything was gonna be ok!! On October 7th 2011 I had a healthy babygir named Ahnyah Raelynn coming in at 7lbs 14.2ozs and 20in long!! Everything is all normal with her, she was my lil blessing because after the 2nd time I was put on birth control and never missed a pill and still got pregnant with her!!! But since she also was my 3rd child(I have a 6yr old boy and soon to be 13yr old girl) I ended up getting fixed so I would never have to worry bout losing anymore babies!!! But stay happy and don't stress, and you will be just fine, I wish you good luck!!

Thanks Jodi for responding. I feel like this will be a normal pregnancy, but I can't help but to think that something could possibly go wrong. Yes, my last pregnancy was pretty difficult to grasp but I have faith that this one will be successful. Thanks again for responding and have a blessed day!!

If you are already pregnant, then it isn't an issue. The only issue following removal of a fallopian tube is GETTING pregnant, because it essentially means that the eggs from one ovary have no access to your uterus, so therefore, your chances of getting pregnant are reduced. But as long as this pregnancy is implanted in the uterus and not in the fallopian tube, then your success rate with this pregnancy will be the same as any average pregnancy. That is not to say it will definitely be successful, because sometimes pregnancies do result in miscarriage, and it is only early days for you yet, BUT the success or failure will have nothing to do with removal of a fallopian tube.
