Faint, delayed positive on pregnancy test?

Hi moms i am new to this.My name is Kayla.I took a prenancy test about 2 hrs ago and one faint blue line on a pregnancy test and do this mean i am pregnancy or i am not pregnancy.If any moms other can help me out with this and i never shown this pregnancy test to know yet i like to show this to my husband but i dont know this means i am prenancy

Hi, my first pregnancy I was young and I did the same thing..took 2 preg.test. One was neg. then I waited til 2 days and tried again cause I was very sick to my stomach and nothing else. Anyways the second test was 2 lines and one line was so light..I thought it was neg.But that all it took was a lil color to the the second line and I was pregnant. So..good luck!

I had the same thing appen to me but I found out that if there is faint positiveit will last for 48 hours. I went and got a blood test done and I waspregnant!

i would consider gettin the digital test that says pregnant or not pregnant just to make sure

Even tho you got ur period doesnt mean your not pregnant when i found out i was pregnant i still had a period for the month and if you had two of them show faintly i would go to the dr to make sure. I had a pregnancy test say negative and a week later found out i was pregnant at the drs office so i took another at home one and it was very faint you could barely make out the lines.

My pregnancy test showed up very very very light. I thought it was negative untill I took my second one and it showed the same faint line. So even at the slightest sign its a possibility! =]

When i got pregnant with my daughter, i actually thought that i got my period , but it was just spotting apparently. a few weeks later i had a gut feeling and took an at home test- 1 line not pregnant, 2 lines pregnant, and i saw one darker line and one barely there line. after buying like 5 tests, it was definitely a positive! funny thing- when i was 7 months pregnant, i took a pregnancy test to take a picture of it for scrapbooks, and it still barely showed a second line- some women just produce less of the hormone that it measures. good luck next month!

i dont even use the line tests anymore just for that reason. i go digital now. cant get any easier than reading "pregnant" or "not pregnant" in writing. :)

I had the same situation when we found out I was pregnant with our second child. I took a pregnancy test and the positive was very faint but it was there. We decided to wait a few days and do another test and it was positive as well. I did have some bleeding and I thought it was my period but I called my OB/GYN anyway and went in to be checked and sure enough I was pregnant and he informed me that bleeding can occur and it can be just as simple as implantation bleeding.

i say test again in the morning in a few days.

my first test was a faint positive in the last minute before disregarding.

i tested the next day..

a positive within 2 minutes.

my son is almost 2 months old now. :o)

First, when was your last period? I was around 8 weeks when my tests finally came up positive...even took a blood test at my OBGYN's that came up negative just weeks before. I agree, maybe wait a few weeks, make a doctor's appointment just in case ;)

Well i had taken a pregnancy test and was a week late it was neg. so i took one 3 days later sit it on my bath tub went back about 15 mins later and it was really really faint pos so i went ahead and made a dr appt. My dr gave me a preg test and told me it was neg but when she showed me the test it was faint pos so i mentioned it to her. She told me that it showed up too long after the time that you are suppose to read it. I came back about 5 days later to take yet another pregnancy test and woah and behold it was Positive. I was gettin a faint positive pregnancy test because i was only 3 weeks pregnant even though i was almost 2 weeks late which should have put me around 6 weeks preg, so the horomone was not very strong yet.

i only ever had all very faint positives so i just went the doc check at 5 weeks and i was so take another and if its faint again go the doc thats my advice xxxxxx

I have had two test with faint lines and went to the doctors and they draw blood. and my hcg lvls where low and I end up losing but babies. I cant always trust a HPT and i have four soon to be five kids. I would wait to retest but also go to the doctors to hav eone done. Good luck and I hope u have a wonderful gift ahead. :P

a doctor once said to me a negative can turn into a positive but a positive can never be a negative!

Same thing happened to me! I took three and everyone was very faint. But I would say wait a few days or you can go to your doctor and they can draw blood to find out if it is positive. It only takes a couple of hours to get the results. But if you don't want to do that then just wait. I think you would be pregnant, but there are always those false positives.

i had this took a test pink line was not there, hid it in the drawer so i could dispose of later husband found it 5 hours later and confronted me asked why i did not tell him i was pregnant. i told him im not i thought i was test was negative he showed it to me and it was light pink so he went and bought more tests took one 2 days later line was visable right away but still faint. took another one 3 days later and there was no mistaken.

when i first took a pregancy test it was very faint, it was the first thing in the morning when i read the instructions though it said if there is 2 lines no matter how faint the line is, its a positive result, i still did another 3 tests after including i digital clear blue which confermed it for me, because i was unsure at first

When I found out I was pregnant the 1st one I took had a faint line, I could hardly see it, but 10 mins later I took another (obviously having to pee 10 mins later should have been an obvious sign) and it came out positive right away. So I took 3 more before I knew for sure! But I would def. take another in a few days just to be sure! And if you are! Congrats!!

I had the same problem and had to wait. I guess some women (myself included) have low hormone levels. So, I don't show up positive on a test until I'm at least 7 weeks pregnant...trust me, that's a long wait!

You might have something similar to that, so I'd test again just to be sure.

Get the digital ones that tell you clearly with words "pregnant" or "not pregnant" worked great for me.

If you leave a pregnancy test sitting, the hcg that is naturally in your urine is over detected. Thats why they say to not read them after ten minutes, because even someone absolutely not pregnant can cause a positive test that way. If the first one was positive I would take another one in a few days with a first morning pee, and then read it within 5-10 minutes. Good luck!

yea after ten minutes they are pointless cuz they can change answer and what not. but even a faint positive is usually positive. you can either wait a few days to a week and take another one or go to the doctor and have them do one of theirs.

Usually when you're pregant the possitive line shows up right away. At least that has been the case for me every time. It could be you don't have enough of the pregnancy hormone in your system yet, hCG. So test in a few days, even a week. If it still is not clear, call your OB/GYN and they can help you with more effective tests.

a faint positive test could mean that you are very early in your pregnancy... I had this happen with my second and the doctor said to test back in a week if I didn't start my period

Not to discourage or anything but in my case if I had as many kids as positive (faint or otherwise) tests results I would have about 8 kids and I only have 2. It may just be my body but I can't trust home tests. I would say your best bet would be to go to a free clinic for an actually test or your doctors office. Hope you get the news your looking for.

a faint positve is when you are very early into your pregnancy (about 2 - 3 weeks gestation). You have two options; First is to go to your doctor and have a blood test done to be sure or wait a few weeks (maybe a month so then you should be 5 - 6 weeks gestation) as the longer you wait and the further into your pregnancy you get the faster and stronger the result will show.



It is very unlikely that the pregnancy test is wrong but it is early days yet so dont get your hopes up until you are 100% sure :-)

i would wait a few days and retest, i have always bought the first response because i found the lines stood out more than the rest. but if you cant wait a few days you can always see your doctor and get the bloodowkr done, my bloodwork for the pregnancy hormone was always back the next morning i called and got the result

Test again in a few days. Do it first thing in the morning since your pee has been sitting in your bladder all night, it's more concentrated.

It is positive even if its extremely faint, it just means your hcg levels are still rising. If you want to be 100% sure just wait a few days and take another one first thing in the morning.

When i was pregnant with my first it was a very faint line and I ended up going to a doctor to find out if i was or not. The doctor even asked me why i thought i was pregnant because their test only came back faintly positive lol i would give it a few days and try again

i would take the test again in a few days, as i had 4 real faint tests, i could hardly see the line so i thought it was nothing, but i tryed a few days after and i got a positive line which came up fast and clear, but i was always told no matter how faint the line.......its still a line :)

I was reading about evaporation lines showing up hours later, but they say the lines would be white, not coloured. The positive I got(on a line test) was blue for both lines. I will test again in a few days anyways, and probably go to a medical Clinic in a couple of days to. Then go to my Dr if that comes back positive.

I would test again in a few days...is it the lines one? bc one line will be a faint line and the other line will be dark. i had the same problem and read the directions. If it is the line pregnancy tests and you have one dark line and one faint light pink one then yes you are pregnant. If you want to make sure you could always go to a free pregnancy testing center near you. that is what i did after i took 2 pregnancy tests. lol. I wanted to make sure i was pregnant before i told my husband (boyfriend at the time). good luck and congrats if you are pregnant :)
