FOOD ALLERGY or SENSITIVE SKIN

My daugthers are now 2 and 3 and they still react to tomatoes and any other acidic foods.  Too much tomato sauce, oranges, apples, kiwi...it's a guaranteed bum rash.

my daughter also used to get a terrible rash around her mouth. finally her doctor subscribed a 2% hydrocortisone product which did wonders. this doesn't have to be a subscription though, you can also buy generic brands of it over-the-counter at most pharmacies. we've been using it ever since for her sensitive skin anytime a rash breaks out, it really works! you just have to be cautious with the little babies skin, they recommended only applying it 2 times a day. Hey Guys thanks for those tips, tried the vaseline this morning and I can already notice a difference, his face isnt any where near as red as it often is after a meal... THANKS

putting vaseline on his face is not going to help,if he gets a rash its generally what we put in our mouths is what appears on our skin..you mite need to try organic foods which you can buy from your supermarket..it may also pay to get an allergy test done at the doctor,then you can find out what it is that maybe causing this...my son has mild eczema and dairy products dont agree with him,whenever he has any dairy,within hours he has spots under his chin...i also recommend neem soap which you can buy from your local trade aid store..its absolutely fantastic.its great for eczema,acne,sunburn,external thrush,rashes..its all natural oils and ingredients...now days we are feeding our children far too many artificial ingredients and using far too many chemicals. eg soaps,moisturisers,shampoos,soap powders etc..i hope this can be of some help..good luck with it

my son is forever having reactions to food he comesout with rash raches all over his body which is how i know its a allergy if its just the cheeks and when he is eating then yeah i would agree its just the food irrating his skin there is a special cream you can get of your health visitor tellher whats happening i cant remember what its called my mates baby has to use it she is to sensitive aswel good luck

yeah i think its just the food irritating his skin. my niece's face gets the same way after she eats tomatoes and so does my daughters when she eats ranch dressing.

With my children that typically happend when they ate tomato products, like spaghetti, so I put vaseline on their cheeks and chin before I fed them those foods. Also, if it happens you can try using some Desitin to clear it up quickly... I know that's for their bum but it also works on the other kind of cheeks!

I have noticed the same thing with my daughter who is 2. She doesn;t get it all the time but a coulple times a week. It doesn't bother her and I have not been able to pin point what food we have eaten at those time to make her get the rash. I talk to the doctor and he said that she is just sensitive and unless it starts bothering her to just not worry about it. Good luck!

easy way to check... b4 giving food pop a coting of vaseline on the wee ones cheeks... instand food barier!!! it wipes off easily and if it is sensative skin it will do it the world of good! Try getting some oilatum for the wee ones baths... you can get it over the counter... from the dr and also on minor ailments... i put it in my wee ones bath and it keeps her skin nice and soft. drs usually give it for exzema or other sensitive skin problems. also when wiping the wee ones face after food use a face cloth with plain water... I used to use plain baby wipes but because you leave the skin damp it can irritate it, just wipe and pat dry!

Hope this helps... if you still think its food then try and only give one type of food for 2 days at a time so you can rule out certain foods the less you give them at the one time the easier it is to rule out what food it causing it!
