I have tried lots of formulas, and we stuck to nestle good start and I really liked it. But my monkey girl started spitting up but I started trying different ones... Now I am upset cause none of them seem as good as Good Start. And I enjoy getting money back from Good start! What have you found to be the best brand of baby formula??

We tried my son on Good Start, but it was high in iron and caused alot of constipation. We switched to Similac and he's doing really well. Its great to get money back but obviously you have to make sure your wee one is feeling great!

SIMILAC ALIMENTUM IS THE BEST BRAND OF BABY FORMULA!!!!!! this is the SAVIOR formula, especially for gerd babies and gassy babies. all my friends that I have recommended it to have never had to switch to anything else, the only catch is that it is a more expensive formula but there are some things that are worth the money like a happy healthy baby; My daughter was on everything from NEO sure to enfamil to good start before her gastroenterologist recommended this one for her reflux and I saw a difference the very first once!!!

I started my daughter out on Enfamil Lipo, but her tummy couldn't handle all that iron, so we moved her to Enfamil Gentlease and that seemed to work. I wouldn't keep switching her formula so much bc then she won't ever be able to get used to one type. If you liked the good start then i would stick with that, how old is she? Some babies just spit up a lot..my daughter did until she started to eat cereal and solids. As long as your baby is gaining weight and not vomitting up the formula then your okay. But i would check with the doctor to make sure that its just the regular baby spit and not acid reflux. Hope all works out!!

we started our son on similac advanced when he was born cuz thats what the hospitals use, but he became so constipated he didn't go for 2 wks besides 1 time. our Pediatrician recommended similac sensitive and so were on that now, but he still only goes every 3 to 4 days.

We use Parent's Choice Lower Iron, because our son was constipated otherwise. We are in the transition of going on it completely, at night time he still gets breastmilk. have had no problems with this brand, and it's CHEAP!!! :) Good luck.

I use half Enfamil Lipil and half Enfamil Gentlease. My boy gets really bad gas and the Gentlease helps but he's been so used to the original that he doesn't like the taste of the new kind, so I mix it and it's working great for him.

We used Enfamil for fussiness and gas. It's in a dark purple container. We started with Nestle Good Start too, but he was very gassy with that so we switched and gas problem solved. Still fussy though..haha!

Nestle Good Start made my little guy sick, sour stomach and diareah. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. We used Similac Advance as well, he was still spitting up and 'vomiting' with it as well. We went to the Dr and he said that he was just a "wet" Baby and to find the best formula for him. We are presently using Enfamil Gentlease. It still has the Omegas in it which I was VERY adamant that they are in the formula.
Good Luck!

I have found Member's Mark Milk Based to be the best brand of baby formula. It is the exact same thing as Enfamil Lipil and the cheapest formula you can buy.

Goodstart Supreme. It has comfort proteins that break it down smaller which is better for baby's tummy. I also love that it has special things like added immunity, DHA, ARA, and other good things to help brain development etc. I also love how Good Start will send you the checks occasionally in the mail! Not to mention other great gifts. One time they send me a baby book!

Karicare de-lact after we found my child had troubles with other formula's (nestle, and a HA formula). Great for her (though obviously not necessary for all babies). Originally thought I wanted an S26 or dearer one (more expensive = better, haha)... but this works great and bonus - it's a cheaper one, lol.

Neocate is the best brand of baby formula for my son because he has milk protein allergies.

it costs over $116 for a small can if it isnt subsidised though!

Thank god ours is as he goes through about 12-14 cans a month!

We're currently on S-26 Gold. I changed to this as it's slightly 'heavier' than the NAN HA she was previously on. She's a big hungry baba! The S-26 claims to be closest to the make-up of breast milk, and it contains additional fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6). I find this pretty important for general brain development. She loves this one as much as the NAN. (The fatty acids might give some young babies tummy cramps, but they get used to it in time, paed said)

also alimentum and the enfamil gentlease are basically the same thing but alimentum is easier to keep down for some reason, a lot of my "converts" switched from gentlease to alimentum, and check with your ped to make sure that your babe doesn't have reflux :)

My pediatrician advised me to start using Enfamil AR... Its in a red can. It has just a little bit of cereal in it to help hold it down in their little stomachs. Good luck :-)

We use the Good Start gentle plus formula. My son was able to digest this better than the similac brand. And our doctor was able to write a prescription for the good start for wic so that we can get it through wic. Which is really nice. Hope this helps.

my daughter is on vanilla Elecare. she was born with gastroschisis--all of her intestines, bowel, and half of her stomach were outside her body. she had surgery at 5 days old and there was a small amount of damage to her bowels. Elecare is specialized for babies with intestinal problems. she wouldn't take the unflavored elecare. (always remember 'unflavored" doesn't mean there isn't a flavor. just means nothing was added to cover up the nasty taste) haha.

I used Nestle Good Start for my first son , and then used Parent's Choice for my second and third. Our family doctor suggested to us that it is comperable to Good Start and that essentially they are all the same with very subtle differences.

we tried diff formulas for my daughter she was on regular good start, good start natural cultures and regular similac. she threw all three of them up. at about 3 months she got switched to similac sensitive rs. milk based n lactose free. the rs stands for rice starch almost similar to the enfamil. its for spit up in healthy babies. she was gaining weight but just was spitting some of it up. she has done wonderful with this milk. no more spit up. although i wish it came in concentrate cans. it only comes in powder and 1 liter ready to feed bottles.

I used Similac Omega 3 & 6 FA (Fatty Acids). I chose it because of the Omega's and I know that Similac has been around for a while, knowing that helped me make my decision also because they focus solely on childrens formula vs. Heinz that makes Ketchup... LOL

Half the price of brand name formulas and just as good, exact same ingredients

My son is almost 14 months old & still takes formula along with his Lactaid due to his GERD and his tummy has a hard time digesting milk. So, we have him on Enfamil Nutramigen & we mix it with Nestle Good Start Gentle Ease since the Nutramigen is SO expensive & WIC only covers so much. :)

My son had reflux so we used Enfamil Lacto-Free formula and he was on zantac too. With my daughter she was getting constipated so she is on the Target Brand "UP and UP" Lactos Sensitve. If your baby is spitting up alot I would ask about reflux. My son would spit up almost his whole bottle and he cried all the time because the acid was hurting his esaphagus(sp?).

My boy spit up a lot too.. he did with ever kind of formula I tried... The doctor said it is because he drank so fast and that some babies just spit up a lot... it didn't have anything to do with the brand... just my son!! ha ha

Good Start is a great one. But I switched to Enfamli Premium because they sell it at Sams Club. You save so much money getting your formula and diapers from Sams or Costco. But I like the premium because it has the immunity booster in it and my little boy loves it! And he's had no problems with spitting up like he did on the Similac and he's an overall happier baby with the enfamil.. But he is growing like crazy! He's 5 months and 18 lbs! But that could be from his dad... His family is all 6'4". But so far all the doctors say he's as healthy as can be! And he's always been very brighteyed and alert. I have no compliants

I tryed Good Start and it made my daughter constipated and she didn't like the taste of the formula. So I started getting WIC, they provide Enfamil, she went through several kinds of Enfamil until we found one that was right for her, it was the Enfamil Prosobee.
With my first child We got the regular Enfamil through WIC.

my son is on similac alimentum. because he has trouble taking the cows milk protein. and he hasnt spit any formula up since we put him on it. also he was drinking 8 ounces with the similac advance but he gets fuller with the alimentum. so now he only drinks 6 oz of formula.

[deleted account]

i use enfamil lower iron. the reason i use it is because i was planning on breastfeeding but had gotten some free formula samples. i wasn't able to produce enough breastmilk and also hated breastfeeding after trying it. enfamil was one of the free samples i got and it was the first one we tried with him and he seemed to like it. we originally started on the higher iron one but he got constipated so we switched to lower iron.
