Our friend is having her first baby this year. They have been trying for several years. They are having a baby boy. I just want some ideas on what we could get for them. Something good. Something big. Something special. Please help.

i thought it was really nice when a friend gave a gift for me (baby gets all the gifts lol) but i would say the best baby gift i got was a gift basket that had some toys for my boy and useful things like baby powder, wash, moisteriser etc. and everyone else gave clothes which was cool but i would give a basket full of stuff you could even go in with other friends and put more stuff in it like a pack of disposible nappies, wipes etc (they also come in handy lol).
oh and i also found (when in hospital with baby) very useful a basket of fruit and easy to eat things that a friend gave me as when i woke up to feed baby i was hungry and you cant really get snacks through the night at hospital.

If you can sew you could make her some burp cloths. I'm making some for my friend that match her nursery decor. Just find some fabric (I like flannel) that goes with the decor and sew them to some cloth diaper prefolds. You can find tutorials on the internet. Everyone needs burp cloths.
If you want to spend a lot of $$$, you could splurge on a ergo baby carrier. Can't wait to buy one for this next baby!

I once bought friend the letters baby or you could do boy or both butanyways it was a picture frame made of the word baby and put there maternity pictures in it.
