Has anyone heard of the virus going around lately called H.F.M(Hand Foot Mouth)?? My daughter's doctor told me about it today. Its very contageous and can actually cause sores on the baby's hands, feet and mouth...The only thing you can do for it is give your baby tylenol or motrin if a fever spikes!! Scary stuff!!

My daughter had it when she was 2 yrs old (she is now 7) I had no heard of it until she got it! She did have blisters on her tiny hands, feet, and in her mouth! But I honestly think that it bothered me more than it bothered her! It took about 2 weeks for it to clear up. She didn't get any scars from it

My daughters doctor told me to give her children's Tylenol or Motrin if she gets or fever or is uncomfortable...maybe you should call your doctor to find out if they think that is okay for yours to take??

Crazy because I actually think my daughter has this right now. I don't know what to do to make her feel better. She is having a hard time eating because she has a sore in her mouth and it hurts to eat. They just say to make sure she stay hydrated which I'm still breastfeeding her so now I'm consurned that I can catch it on my breasts because they have started to hurt. They also say that they are contagious for up to 3 weeks after everything is healed up.

Thier have been 3 cases at my sons day care but they still manage to keep it down to a small number, by washing hands regularly and no kissing on the mouth. My son has managed not to get it thankfully.

i've heard of it. my neice's stepson had it about 3 weeks ago. they had thought that her daughter, who is 4 months younger than my daughter, had caught it but she didn't.

My daughter got it a few months ago. She had sores in her mouth and throat ran high fevers and had what looked like little pin pricks on the palms of her hands and the soles of her feet. It's been around forever both of my kids go to daycare and i work in that daycare. It's not really a big deal compared to some other things they gave her antibiotics of an extreme strength and anfter the first day she was fine. It can be very contagious but both of my kids play together constantly and he didnt get it and none of the eleven classmates she had got it.

My daughter has gotten it 1 or 2 times. She is a daycare kid and that's where she caught it from. She only had the sores in her mouth and it lasted only for a couple days. I just gave her non acidic foods and things that required little chewing. I did have to give her motrin and tylenol, I would rotate days with the meds so she wouldn't get immune. It is really not fun and very scary but luckily it doesn't cause any long term affects.

My daughter had it several months ago. I stay at home, so I have no idea where she picked it up. But she was teething and putting her hands in her mouth and ran a little fever from the teething so her immune system was down.

She only got sores in her mouth, but really that was the worst. She was hungry, but couldn't eat. I kept her on tylenol for the pain. We made it through.

Kids catch stuff. You can't live in fear, but you can use common sense to keep them healthy. But even then, they still get sick.

I hope your little one doesn't have to go through it!
