If she is on the Enfamil AR that is the problem, my son was on that because he had acid reflex and tha formula made him not be able to go so they switched him to gentlease so he could go.

Both of my kids had this issue. My son was on formula with extra iron which caused it (I was anemic during my pregnancy and he was jaundice). I put an extra 1/2 oz of water in the formula to help as well as a teaspoon of dark Karo syrup. That worked well. They would both go about 4-5days without pooping, then strain and fuss trying to go. I would also rub their bellies and work their legs up and down to try to help out.

my daughter is frequently constipate has been since she started formula. She is two now and still gets it frequently. If she is formula fed it could be the formula or even if she is breast fed it could be whatever your eating.

I agree all the way with Tabatha. Juice. I'm not sure about prune juice because not even I would drink that...But a tried and true (even for mommy and daddy) is Juicy Juice. Any flavor. Mix it with water first and if it don't help try less of it without water, she will have no more problems after that. :) Hope it helps.

My son had the same issue around the same age. I was formula feeding him and it was the formula (the one we were using had extra iron). We switched to soy formula and that totally helped. He still had some issues but it helped. I like what Tabatha said about lessening the scoops of formula to water, that might help as well. Good luck for your little girl!

My son had gone threw this alont when you was first born for a couple of months. He would go a week without going poop, and would have a hard time doing it. The doctor tried switching his formula's and that never worked. We have tried almost every formula their was. Also mentioned was a bit of prune juice and water, It still was'nt working for my little guy. Over all what did work was lessening the amount of scoops of formula we put in the bottle, and that seemed to be the answer. You will just have to talk with your doctor on it but if you were to try apple juice or prune juice or some water, make sure she is sitting up when she is drinking it or she will choke because it is not as thick as formula is and they are'nt used to drinking that kind of luquid. yes my daughter went through that she is now 14 months i used to squeeze a fresh orange to give her in her botttle that helped also somebody told me to try rubbing vaseline round her bottom hole that worked really well to hope these work for ur daughter to
